I realize we’re already half way through the week, but that doesn’t discredit the movies I did see this weekend! Neither were knockouts, but they were both memorable in very different ways.

Concert Review: Bastille
A few days late, but that doesn’t diminish my experience in any way…I saw Bastille over the weekend! I believe it’s my fifth time seeing the band, and they NEVER disappoint! Even though lead singer, Dan Smith, was very obviously fighting a cold, he still sounded spectacular (maybe just a little more audience participation this time around).
The show opened with another one of my favorites, Joywave, who played all their hits like “Destroyer” and “It’s a Trip!,” while incorporating some new tunes like “Obsession” off of their upcoming album, due out early next year. They were definitely donning safety gear, but they were electric and spot on perfection!
Bastille hit the stage a threw out a bunch of new tunes from their latest record, Doom Days, like “Joy” and “Those Nights,” but they also peppered in some old hits like “Good Grief” and “Things We Lost in the Fire.” I was excited they added in a song from their first mix-tape, “Of the Night!” and of course Dan came into the crowd during “Flaws.” The man zoomed right past me and a I took the world’s worst picture of his arm…oh, well!
Look, I may not have been as huge a fan of this latest effort, but there is no denying the talent of this band, and hearing them live is a treat! There are plenty of North American tour dates left, so go catch them if you can!
Fan Art Friday: All the Art!!!
Since I’m a day late, I figured I could post a bunch of my art considering I’m at a show today. Seems fitting…so enjoy!
Fall Concert Review: Angels & Airwaves
After a short break, the concerts are picking back up! Last night I got to see Angels and Airwaves at the House of Blues in Cleveland! It was quite a show filled with a good deal of talent – opening bands included!

September is turning out to be a lot busier than I anticipated! All I’ve really managed to do is read, which is good, because fall TV is gearing up next week! With that, I got my hands on the latest Girl With the Dragon Tattoo novel by David Lagercrantz, who took over for Stieg Larsson, The Girl Who Lived Twice.

TV Rewind: Political Animals
I’m trying to squeeze in as many shows as I can before all my fall programs start back up in a couple weeks. So with that I decided to get my hands on a 2012 mini-series that I have had on my list for a while, Political Animals.

Since Rafa is playing his semi-final match as we speak, I wanted to pay tribute to the one athlete I’m obsessed with. Enjoy!
New Show Review: Dead to Me
Okay, so technically Dead to Me isn’t a new show, but when I started it many months ago it was! Even though this show only consisted of ten half hours segments, I got half way through when I decided I needed to watch all of Stranger Things and Animal Kingdom, along with shoving in some MTV reality trash. And so here we are, finally finished with this dark comedy, and quite frankly it was a delight! Not the best show I’ve ever seen, but some quality acting and A+ delivery.

Not to much came to the theaters this weekend, so I decided to take a look at my list of movies that have been out for a little while that I’ve been meaning to see. Since my local video store got shut down, and I’m too stubborn to stream most things, I went to a nearby Red Box to see what they had – so many good options is what! I settled on two short, but well reviewed movies: A Vigilante and Lying and Stealing.
