It’s only been a few weeks since I first ventured out to theaters, and Words on Bathroom Walls was the first film I decided to see. This decision was made solely based on the trailer I randomly stumbled across on Youtube one day. With that being said, it came as a bit of a surprise to me when I saw this movie was an adaptation of the book of the same name written by Julia Walton. Naturally, when I got home I immediately ordered the book since I was so fond of the film. In my head, I assumed that not much had changed from text to screen, so I didn’t even give it second thought.

Seether – Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum Album Review
As I sat down to draw late this afternoon, I decided it was time give the new album from Seether a listen. I know it’s only been a little over a week since it’s dropped, but I felt like I shouldn’t delay this adventure any longer – and I was right to think that! Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum was a solid ride through the rock landscape for just over 50 minutes of my life, and I couldn’t ever regret it.

The beat goes on with my attempt to watch more of the Emmy nominees before the actual Emmy Awards ceremony airs on September 20th. So with that, I landed on FX for Hulu’s nine part miniseries, Mrs. America. Talk about a star-studded affair! Even the small parts were played by well-known actors!

For the past two weeks I’ve been obsessively listening to Arcade Fire and my desire to see live music is at its desperate peak! I think back to the two times I was able to see Arcade Fire live in 2014 and 2018, and both instances were incredible. True talents, every one of them! Anyways, the younger Butler, William, has ventured into solo work, and I loved his first album’s cover so much that I drew it.

On this concert throwback, I chose to feature Ohio’s very own Hawthorne Heights. I would consider this band the pinnacle of emo and they fully embrace it which I love so much. Couple that with the fact that I’ve seen them at least seven times in concert, if not more. I’ve seen them at small and large venues, as support and headliners, but either way they put on one hell of a show! And they love their fans. It’s always clear when I see them live or check in with them on social media that they just want to make music that people like and can connect with. If you’ve never listened to “Ohio is for Lovers,” then embrace your emo side and blast that song for all to hear! The pictures below celebrate the first time I saw them, and subsequently had ringing in my ears for a few days (my friend was actually sitting on the amp). Enjoy my youthful glow and the glitter guitars!
Read moreBook Review: Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
Since I’ve read several novels by Rainbow Rowell, it seemed like an easy decision to read one of her most popular entries, Eleanor & Park. This one also happens to have been optioned to be adapted into a film! I love that kind of thing (obviously)! Overall this was a very easy read, being that it’s young adult and just over the 300 page threshold, but it was still very entertaining.
Read moreFinally….the Tenet Film Review!
After much fanfare and many delays, Christopher Nolan’s latest epic, Tenet finally hit theaters yesterday for early access and I was totally there to see it. And just like the other films I’ve seen at my local theater, not a single other living sole was watching it with me. A little sad, but I was ultimately grateful for it. Let’s just say that despite all the hype that this film was receiving, it didn’t totally live up to it, and I’ll try to explain why without giving away all its secrets. Although, if you watch all the trailers available for it, you pretty much have the entire movie plot at your fingertips.
