Servant Season 1

It’s official, Apple+ has the strangest catalog of shows out there, and Servant basically made that decision for me. I recall back when the streaming service launched, this was one of the first shows it premiered. The fact that it was produced by M Night Shyamalan was supposed to be the big seller here, and I guess it was because that’s ultimately why I watched it. That, and it was shrouded in mystery! If someone had asked me what I thought the show was about all I could was “a baby.”

Weekend Movie Review

Unlike October, I have totally been slacking this month! Last week I didn’t watch a single film and this week I only got three in before my internet crapped out on me. A disappointing turn of events, but there is still time (and a holiday weekend) to catch up! Also, a fun fact about this trio of movies – they were all only an hour and a half! I love a good movie that can get their point across without dragging it past the two hour mark. It’s just not necessary sometimes and I think more filmmakers need to take note.

Dickinson Season 1 Review

Well, I got Apple + back in order to watch Sofia Coppola’s latest film, so I figured it’d be a good opportunity to a watch a couple more shows in their catalog. I wanted something somewhat comedic, and besides Ted Lasso, Dickinson was the next beset thing. I remember being intrigued by it when press first started for it, but Hailee Steinfeld wasn’t quite enough to sell me on it.

Workaholics Seasons 6 & 7

In an incredibly short amount of time I have managed to watch the entirety of Workaholics, and it was a fantastic ride. I don’t want to sound ungrateful for the time dedicated to It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but I think I enjoyed Workaholics just a bit more. As I’m sure I’ve explained in a prior season’s review, these three dudes just seem more relatable. I attribute that to its office setting and their genuine friendship. Sure, the gang are friends, too, but these guys actually look out for each other. That’s the key difference. Anyways, I’m not going to get hung up on all that, because both really are great series and you should definitely take the time to watch them.

Album Review: Haim – Women in Music Pt III

Alright, I’m not going to lie, I bought Haim’s third full-length album solely based on their performance of “3 A.M.” on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Yes, it was slightly subdued and a little quiet, but something about it just clicked with me and for whatever reason that was the only convincing I needed. I have been a Haim fan since the beginning, but their sophomore album was a supreme disappointment to me. That, and they were touring with Taylor Swift. Pass. But this rock trio of sisters have managed to redeem themselves in my eyes!
