I say nostalgic because most of what I watched was on the older side. Some were new to me, while others I just revisited, but you know I made time for some new films, too. Who would I be if I didn’t? Let’s take a stroll down memory lane first.

Album Review: Machine Gun Kelly – Tickets to My Downfall
Admittedly, even though Machine Gun Kelly is from my neck of the woods, I’ve never really given his music much of a chance in the past. A large part of that has to do with the fact that he’s primarily a rapper, which just isn’t really my cup of tea. Yes, I’ve seen him at rock and emo shows, both as a fan and as a performer, but I just attributed that to the fact that he was local. Turns out, he can make some really good emo and punk music! Let his new album, Tickets to My Downfall, put all your fears to rest.

While it is not technically Friday, I am still posting fan art anyway. This time you all get to feast your eyes on Tom Hiddleston! With The Falcon and the Winter Soldier out, I’m reminded that not too far down the road Hiddleston gets his own Loki series, and I’m very excited about it! Plus this man is beautiful. Enjoy!

Ever since this Hulu comedy aired, I seen nothing but praise for it, so I figured it was finally time to check PEN15 out! Straight off the bat I could understand why critics loved this show, but I imagine the casual viewer was probably extremely uncomfortable by most of this show. I personally found myself somewhere in the middle of the spectrum, although the first half of the second season really got me hooked.

Typical me, I saw that this book, The Girl Before by J.P. Delaney, was heading for television, so I picked it up without much more context. In this case, the decision worked out!

So many long movies! Okay, really just the one. And I suppose it wasn’t a long weekend for anyone really, but it was for me! That means I got to spend some quality time with my television (and one abandoned theater). Let’s review!

Now that I’ve got access to HBO Max and it’s massive catalog of content, I have been living my best life and watching shows that have always appealed to me in the past but were always just out of reach. Enter: Camping! This eight episode, half hour comedy touted an excellent cast and that’s really all I needed to want to tune in. Let’s dive in.

Ah this show! Perhaps this half hour horror/drama is something I would like to binge all at once. Each episode of Servant is suspenseful, and the past few weeks I was so bummed I had to wait a whole week for the next installment. To be fair, when I started the second season five episodes in, I had totally forgot that Apple+ aired their shows weekly. I guess that’s what I get for watching a bunch of their first season shows all at once.

This week’s fan art Friday could also be considered a flashback Friday, as well, considering I posted this drawing not even a year ago. However, I felt the need to post it again because of Disney+ and Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier coming out today! Sebastian Stan is the only member of the core cast that I’ve drawn, so I’m afraid that’s all you’re getting…for now! I haven’t watched the show yet, but it’s definitely on my radar for tonight. Hopefully it’s as satisfying as WandaVision was!

What a surprising treat this album turned out to be! I must say, in the past I’ve been a fair-weather fan of Kings of Leon, but they may have just forced me to give their entire catalog a fair listen with their first release in about five years, When You See Yourself. If your first single can hook me the way “The Bandit” did, then you’re onto something good!
