January 31, 2025admin

I’m pulling out a super old drawing in honor of Sundance. Dylan O’Brien stars in Twinless, one of the US Dramatic Competition films I’m looking forward to checking out this weekend. Enjoy!

Disclaimer – Miniseries Review

January 30, 2025January 30, 2025admin

Although I’m surprised it took me so long to watch Disclaimer after reading the book of the same name, I think it was probably for the best. I didn’t follow my usual order, which is to watch first, then read. Because a book will never let you down.

Weekend Movie Review

January 29, 2025January 29, 2025admin

The final push for the first of the year is here and I’m still doing a pretty mediocre job of it. Still, I made some time at the theaters this weekend, though I couldn’t bring myself to sit through The Brutalist yet.

English Teacher – Season 1 Review

January 28, 2025January 28, 2025admin

To be honest with you, the only reason English Teacher caught my eye is because I recognized the lead actor from a smaller recurring role in the Will & Grace reboot. But then it started getting Emmy buzz, so I knew it had to be worth checking out. And it was!

Fan Art Friday – Kristen Stewart

January 25, 2025January 25, 2025admin

Finally, a new drawing for the new year! This one has been on the back burner for quite a while. In fact, I think I was inspired to draw her again after her multiple Sundance films last year. Oh, well. Better late than never!

Book Review: Promise Boys by Nick Brooks

January 23, 2025admin

I love a good young adult book from time to time, and what drew me first to Nick Brooks’ Promise Boys, was the stark contrasting cover. In a bright red you see three boys, but then the eyes have been torn out and you can see that they are boys of color. That gives this murder mystery another layer of intrigue.

Somebody Somewhere – Final Season Review

January 21, 2025January 21, 2025admin

Why in the hell is this third season the final one for Somebody Somewhere? Once again, after finishing it’s final, seventh episode, I just felt happy. And then I felt sad knowing I won’t get to feel this from this show any more. I guess that just means I’ll have to re-watch it over and over again.

Kings of Leon – Can We Please Have Fun, Album Review

January 20, 2025January 22, 2025admin

I feel like I have a very strange relationship with Kings of Leon, so maybe I’m using that as the excuse for waiting so long to listen to their latest album, Can We Please Have Fun.
