So I don’t throw all of the films I’m watching at Sundance on you all at once, I’m breaking it up into smaller chunks for you all to digest. Also, so I can elaborate a little bit more than just a line or two. So far, some pretty strong entries from my list!

Fan Art Friday: Jared Leto
With awards season in full swing (well, kind of), and Morbius set to hit theaters in April (God willing), I decided it was time to draw one of my favorite people again! Jared Leto came into my life via 30 Seconds to Mars, and it was only shortly after that I learned he was an actor. Personally, I like almost everything he’s done, and I look forward to what he chooses to do in the future. At this point, I think his performance in House of Gucci is a lock for an Oscar nomination, but anything can happen.

Since the Sundance Film Festival starts today (!) I won’t have any time to watch anything else that’s out in the world right now. I’ve managed to squeeze in a film every day this week, so I figured I’d cover them now before you get the full force of Sundance thrown at you.
Read moreBook Review: We Sold Our Souls by Grady Hendrix
It’s official: Grady Hendrix has cemented himself as one of my favorite authors. With his 2018 novel, We Sold Our Souls, I think it’s pretty clear that he’s just never going to disappoint me. First he had me horror, and this time he adds in heavy metal!

While this is definitely much different than the horrid truths that were revealed in Peacock’s Dr. Death, Apple TV+’s The Shrink Next Door was almost as mind blowing. In this 8-part miniseries, we see how one emotionally vulnerable man was ruthlessly swindled by his psychiatrist.

Even after watching the entire Scream franchise last week, you know I had to make time for some other movies over the weekend. And yes, that did include another viewing of Scream 5. I stand by my thoughts on it in a spoiler-free capacity. Other than that, some other new films made the cut.

Since Underoath’s return to the music scene, I’ve been living off of their 2018 release, Erase Me, but the wait is finally over and the band has blessed our ears with Voyeurist. This album seems to take all of the band’s influences over the years and combines them into one very cohesive and badass piece of music.

This past week, in honor of the fifth installment of Scream hitting theaters, I decided to go back and revisit the prior four films. I am fairly confident I haven’t watched any of these since the last one came out in 2011. There was the short-lived MTV series based on the Scream IP that I watched from 2015-2019, but it didn’t include any of the characters that are synonymous with this particular franchise. But we’ll dig a little bit more into the newest film at the end. And I promise, no spoilers!

In honor of the latest Scream installment coming out to day, here is a drawing I did a couple years ago for someone!
Read moreDan Black – Do Not Revenge Album Review
Back during my senior year of high school, Dan Black’s debut album, Un, was on repeat in my car for at least a full year. It was something my sister and I legitimately never grew tired of, and we still love it to this day. Somehow, his follow-up album, some seven years later slipped under our radar, but now I’m finally giving Do Not Revenge its time in the sun.
