I love me a good subtitled movie, so there’s no doubt that I would love a subtitled show! Los Espookys is primarily a Spanish series about a group of friends just out trying to scare people.

The New York Times journalist John Carreyrou delivered a story so crazy I almost couldn’t believe it was real. Elizabeth Holmes, a Stanford sophomore dropout, managed to dupe a large part of the world with the promise of revolutionary healthcare. Blood testing to be more specific. Given how recently everything fell apart for her, I’m sort of shocked this scandal was never on my radar. I worked in healthcare for crying out loud! In finance, but still.

Ever since watching Jonathan Groff in Glee, he’s always been on my radar, but I had never really given any of his other stand-out projects a chance. Now, I don’t know that I will ever watch Hamilton or Frozen (just not a fan of musicals or kids movies), but I did want to check out his critically acclaimed show, Looking, while I still had the chance. Unfortunately, despite it’s great reviews, the viewership was low enough that it got cancelled after two seasons, although HBO was gracious enough to let them tie up their story with a movie. So I watched it all!

While he claims the passages written were not meant to be a memoir but more like a recounting of his sheer determination of will, it still read like a memoir to me. Either way, this book is a deep dive into the life of Andy Biersack.

Well, similar to Tribeca, this queer film fest is also doing a hybrid of in person and at home screenings, which works out just fine for me!
