Most Random Movies

I don’t know that anything I watched this weekend I planned on watching, but I have zero regrets about any of them. All were practically spur of the moment, with a few that I’d never even really heard of before. They also covered a wide array of genres which always makes for an entertaining time. I would say if you picked any of these films to watch in the future you won’t be let down. I promise!

Heroes of the Shadow World Convention

Well, just like most other events in the world, this year’s first and only Shadowhunters convention got pushed until next year. In an effort to please the fans though, Jalmics, the organizer of the event, roped together an At Home convention for this past weekend! I will say, despite the event not taking place in person, this experience was pretty sweet! As an avid fan of the show, I was particularly pumped about it.

The Boys – Season 2, Episode 4

Alright, just starting this off by saying there will be SPOILERS about the fourth episode of The Boys‘ second season. There. You’ve been warned. I also wanted to let you all know that you technically don’t have to wait until Friday to watch the new episodes! Both this week and last, these gems were available on Thursday night, and not at midnight – several hours beforehand! So be impatient like me and get the up and up on everyone else.

Fan Art Friday: Shadowhunters Edition

I mean this is really the Shadowhunters edition specifically featuring old Matthew Daddario drawings, but whatever! Doesn’t matter. What does matter is that the Shadowhunters Conversation at Home is taking place this weekend and I am pumped! I’ll be watching panels and interviews all weekend long and hopefully get to throw a few questions at the cast and crew myself. Not the same as being in person, but hopefully that can happen next year! Until then, enjoy some artwork.

Concert Throwback: Declan McKenna

Since I just reviewed Declan McKenna’s newest musical release, Zeroes, I figured I’d throw it back to the time I got to see him live! And at an incredibly tiny, local venue for that matter! Bliss. This guy is a true talent for his youth and I enjoyed every second of the performance. Even my friend who I dragged along with me had a great time! Once we’re out of this quarantine hell, go catch him in concert!

Poetry Review: Crush by Richard Siken

It’s been a little while since I’ve cracked open a book of poetry, but Richard Siken’s Crush just so happened to randomly enter my orbit, and I’m so glad it did! This is not your typical collection of poems, it’s essentially broken the rules to deliver something that is at times gut-wrenching and at others beautiful. It’s things like these that always keep my love of reading and writing poetry alive.

The Boys – Season 2, Episodes 1-3

The Boys are back and I am so excited to get back into the lives of these degenerates! Luckily, I had a much shorter wait than most of the fans who watched the first season when it was initially released, but that doesn’t mean I was any less anxious for new content! And even though the first three episodes are all that’s at our disposal, it was plenty to keep our minds occupied until this coming Friday.

Book Review: Words on Bathroom Walls by Julia Walton

It’s only been a few weeks since I first ventured out to theaters, and Words on Bathroom Walls was the first film I decided to see. This decision was made solely based on the trailer I randomly stumbled across on Youtube one day. With that being said, it came as a bit of a surprise to me when I saw this movie was an adaptation of the book of the same name written by Julia Walton. Naturally, when I got home I immediately ordered the book since I was so fond of the film. In my head, I assumed that not much had changed from text to screen, so I didn’t even give it second thought.
