It’s the end of an era, folks. The other day, remaining and sole (?) member of Panic! at the Disco, Brendon Urie, announced the band’s end as he chooses to focus on his family. I wasn’t too surprised that this once dominant four-piece finally puttered out. Sure, the pop masses still ate up anything he offered, but I tapped out a few albums ago. There were decent songs here and there, but nothing can match the brilliance that was their debut into the world, A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out. I remember hearing “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” at thirteen and just getting the coolest feeling. I immediately sought out the record, and luckily my parents didn’t investigate too far into it and bought it for me. I’ve seen them live at least four times over the course of my life and I just hope that if someday the band gets resurrected that we get the lineup of that era, but for now, I will reflect and be happy.

Fan Art Friday: Nicolas Cage
Seeing the trailer for Renfield last week was all the motivation I needed to draw the acting legend that is Nicolas Cage! But, since I know you’ve all seen National Treasure, then you must now see Pig and Mandy. For now though, enjoy this new drawing.

Cate Blanchett has had an incredible career and she’s absolutely GORGEOUS. It’s kind of crazy to me how I’ve never drawn her before. Now with the Oscars around the corner and some serious buzz about her performance in Tàr, why not now? Enjoy!

That’s right, the movie I filmed four scenes for 14 months ago is now available on Netflix! That means you can catch me on-screen for approximately six seconds, but I’m there, and it’s still really cool. Now, I don’t actually have artwork related to White Noise, but I do have two drawings of its lead, Adam Driver, so that’s what you’re getting. Enjoy!

Even though I won’t be attending this year, I can’t deny that the 2023 lineup for Welcome to Rockville is really, really good. Here’s hoping half of their weekend isn’t ruined by lightening! Similar to last week, I have never seen what Charlie Hunnam is most known for, Sons of Anarchy. I am however, a big fan of a lot of his other projects. The holiday has me all turned around, so for that reason you are getting a fan Art Friday post today. On Saturday. Anyways, similar to Daniel Radcliffe, Elijah Wood is another actor whose work I enjoy more outside of his well known franchise. (Also, I’ve never seen Lord of the Rings). I’m a big fan of Come to Daddy and I get the chance in a couple of weeks to potentially meet Elijah in person! Thus, a drawing to celebrate the opportunity!

I think you all knew this was coming since I recently reviewed Betty Gilpin’s essay collection, All the Women in My Brain: And Other Concerns. It also helps that I’ve really enjoyed watching her in film and some television. GLOW is still on my watch list, so for now my recommendation is The Hunt – enjoy!
