Concert Review: Here Come the Mummies

This is it, the final livestream show I have lined up for 2020 (for now). And what a great performance to end on! Here Come the Mummies delivered a spectacular Halloween inspired livestream show last night and I had a blast watching!

Again, somewhat different than other performances I’ve watched because this one was filmed at an actual venue in Nashville. That means they had their usual set-up…just no one to perform to directly except for the camera people. Either way, with so many member and so many instruments, it seemed easy for them to create an exciting and lively environment to jam out to. All member were wrapped head to toe in their custom mummy gear, and some even accessorized with boas, hats, and sunglasses! Definitely made it fun to watch!

They kicked off the show with “my Party” and then churned through a lot of their other hits. Some were slower, but most were fun and fast-paced. I found myself dancing in my chair as I watched the show unfold on my television. Even my sister stayed and watched most of the performance (that’s a huge deal!). My favorite songs “Kinda Lingers” and “Pants” were played so I was a happy camper. Again, if you’ve never heard of Here Come the Mummies then you are in for a somewhat inappropriate, heavily laced sexual innuendo, time.

The band sounded great and they were really into it, which means the excitement levels were up and the dancing aplenty. I never thought I’d be a fan of funk, but I think it is literally impossible to not have a good time while listening to this mega-talented bunch of mummies. If you get the chance, find clips of their performances online. You can thank me later.
