Concert Throwback: Motion City Soundtrack

My next livestream concert experience isn’t until next week, so for now we all get to reminisce about the many times I’ve seen 2000’s emo band Motion City Soundtrack. I know someone is likely to read this and tell me they are pop punk, but you’re wrong. They are all sorts of emotional and have toured with the most emo band on this planet (Hawthorne Heights), therefore they are also emo.

Alright, back on track. I’ve had the luxury to see this band probably at least four times in a number of different settings, both headlining and opening, but either way they were spectacular every single time! Probably most frequented was at the House of Blues, but I was lucky enough to catch them on Warped Tour, too! All of their work is so strong and catchy, and the lyrics are endlessly relatable that it’s no surprise that this is one of my favorite bands.

Also, the sheer live talent they have is something that is sorely lacking in artists today. Seriously, just look at those top 40 posers. Anyways, lead singer Justin Pierre has such a unique voice that it’d sort of be insane if he didn’t sound like that in real life. It’s also just so in that if he were bad, it would sound horrendous and they probably wouldn’t have ever been successful if that were the case.

Perhaps my favorite Motion City Soundtrack concert experience had to be one of the times they played at the House of Blues. This was not just because they were awesome (because they were), but because I had numerous Twitter interactions with Pierre the day of the show! How freaking cool?! I’m hope to make new memories with the band in the near future maybe with some new music since they did that reunion tour last year. I hate hiatuses, don’t you? The future might freak me out, too, but it’ll be a lot more bearable with their music in it.
