How have I not done a throwback post of this band yet?! Royal Blood is absolutely incredible and with just two members, supremely impressive. I’ve been lucky enough to see them four separate times, and I even experienced them once from the front row!
Royal Blood is as rock as they come, but they are only armed with a set of drums and a bass guitar (plus a lot of pedals). Just these two guys manage to sound like a full-fledged four-piece, with the bass making guitar riffs and sounds in all of their tracks. Prior to seeing them for the first time I had listened to the band’s music, so I was pretty excited to see them live. And they did not disappoint! There is a fair bit of charisma thrown about onstage, which again is impressive coming from two dudes.
Even more impressive is that bass guitarist/lead singer Mike Kerr has been totally trashed every time I’ve seen them play and he sounds fantastic. Seriously. If you played their album the same time they are playing live, it is almost note for note. He even played his bass behind his head for a whole song! With a newly released single, I am looking forward to new music from these two, and hopefully a tour!
