It’s still early in the season of Fargo, but these characters keep getting themselves more twisted into each other’s lives as the minutes tick by, and I can’t wait for it all to come to a head! That’s what this show is known for, but it just seems like there are so many more players involved this time around. It makes me both nervous and excited to watch everything go down!
For instance, this week, Ethelrida takes Oraetta up on her offer to tidy around her house, and while she’s there she finds a closet full of poison, stolen trinkets, and obituaries! Nurse Mayflower is a bona fide serial killer! And I have a feeling it’s not going to work out well for Ethelrida considering she took the Don’s ring and left her notebook in the closet!
It’s also not going to work out well for her father because he ultimately payed back Loy Cannon with the money his sister-in-law stole from them in last week’s episode! The unfortunate smell of vomit gave him away and probably signed his death certificate. Up until that moment, the Cannon’s weren’t totally sure that the robbery wasn’t the Fadda’s doing. The Italians also got confronted about who their leader is, which put Josto in a most foul mood.
The Cannon’s retaliated for the botched assassination by hijacking an orange truck that was concealing about 300 firearms. Sure makes it look like the Italians are out for a war. I imagine that was all Gaetano’s doing. He’s still trying to run his own operation under his brother’s nose, but Josto finally (tries) to lay down the law. Gaetano is a hot-head so he’s not likely to listen to his brother for long. At lead Rabbi has earned some good graces with Josto. I get nervous for the guy! Especially when he’s confronted by Loy about giving him is son back. Loy doesn’t think Rabbi has any loyalties, but he does for now. Wouldn’t it be fun if he staged another coup? Or came out on top with only a select few?
On top of that, Odis is trying to ditch Deafy, who exchanges words with Gaetano. He kept his cool and you can tell he’s biding his time. Deafy doesn’t trust Odis and he knows if he sticks around something good will come out of it. Our only other players right now are Ethelrida’s aunt and her girlfriend. They’ve been busy cleaning money and recovering from the poisoned pie. Nasty stuff.
The episode was entertaining as hell and I cannot wait until next Sunday! Other than the storylines we’ve been following, there was a scary looking supernatural figure that showed up twice during the episode and I wonder what sort of significance that will have as the rest of the season goes on? We shall see, I guess!
