The cadence and strangeness of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has finally set in fully after four seasons, and I find it absolutely hysterical and incredibly addicting. I’ve managed to watch about one season a week, and it feels like I will be burning through to season 14 in no time flat.
Alas, I can stop and enjoy the ride immensely, and I do! While the episode titles have become less taboo than the first three seasons, that doesn’t make their content any less obscene. Personal favorite titles of the season go to “Mac and Dennis: Manhunters” and “Dennis Reynolds: An Erotic Life.” The episodes that had me laughing the hardest, though, were “Who Pooped the Bed?” and “The Nightman Cometh.”
Seriously, Frank had it right when he said poop was hilarious. I was dying of laughter at the simplicity of the concept but also the lengths the gang went to in order to figure out who crapped in Frank and Charlie’s bed. A great turn for guest, Artemis, as well! Fun fact, “The Nightman Cometh” was so popular that it spawned its own touring musical! This is not a joke! If you look up “The Nightman Cometh” on Youtube, you will find a clip of the actors putting this show, expanded, on the stage. The particular clip takes place at the Troubadour in LA, and it’s as magical as the episode itself. Some next-level creativity if I’ve ever seen it!
Again, I implore you, if you aren’t offended by anything, and off kilter humor is your game, then you must definitely make this half hour comedy a priority in your life. You won’t regret it!
