I am getting down to the wire here in terms of watching films that have been or could be potentially nominated for the most prestigious awards available for film. So I’ve got to step to it! Luckily, I managed to squeeze in two very solid films this weekend.

I realize that yes, I met THE Neve Campbell last week at a convention, but this drawing is actually 100% unrelated! As part of adopt-a-family, someone requested Scream merchandise, so I figured I’d get a little personal and creative by drawing her the original film’s poster! I hope it’s well received, because I had a fun time drawing this.

Since announcing their nominations yesterday, the Golden Globes and Critic’s Choice further convinced me to check out Marriage Story on Netflix. Although it just got released on Friday, all of its nominations made me too eager to wait until the weekend! So I pulled a late night and determined that it just might deserve everything it was nominated for.

In the tenth episode of Mr. Robot‘s final season, we see another new take with a sort of rom-com feel. But before the feel-good vibes, we start off the hour with Dom recovering in the hospital, although not of her own volition. No sooner does she get out, then Darlene shows up begging her to escape with her and Elliot. It takes a lot of convincing, but Dom eventually gives in.
Since the the hack is complete, Darlene is done, but Elliot still has more he needs to do. They leave each other after a very sweet hug and some really nice words. We then see that Darlene and Dom will be accompanied by Leon, who has basically confirmed he’s just a gun for hire looking for the best payout. They take a back-roads road trip of sorts up to Boston, but make a pit stop along the way. There, Darlene shows Dom something she’s really proud of: the largest redistribution of wealth in history. Darlene is elated, and even Dom let’s go for a short bit.
Once the two make it to the airport, Dom runs into Irving in a gift shop trying to sell his new book. He tells her that the Dark Army don’t care about the two of them anymore. I don’t know about you, but Irving’s appearance in the episode seems a little misplaced, and I one hundred percent don’t believe him, but I guess we’ll see. Finally letting go of the anxiety about being caught by the Dark Army, she tells Darlene that she can’t go to Budapest. We learn two things from this emotional exchange. One is that Darlene is afraid of being by herself, and two is that Dom is afraid of trying something new.
Que the rom-com music and montage! We are treated to alternating scenes of Darlene getting ready to board the plane and Dom hesitating at the exit. Dom then decides to head back to the plane where we see Darlene run to the bathroom to fight off a panic attack at the exact same time. Although they don’t end up together, they still get a little bit of what they need. Dom is off to Budapest, trying something new and actually getting some sleep, while Darlene overcomes her panic attack and stating she can take care of herself.
This was a sweetly unique episode, and I don’t know what will come of these characters in the final hours of the show, but I’m ready to get back to Elliot next week (and Whiterose according to the teaser!).
My First Comic Con!
People of earth! I went to my first comic con over the weekend, and I’ve got to say that I had a blast! Now, I eased myself into it by going to a local one and I only attended one of the three days, but I think I got quite a lot out of it.

Last night’s ninth episode of Mr. Robot saw the conclusion of what they’ve essentially been building towards for the entire season. Now just because the hack worked, doesn’t mean there won’t be any fallout.
