Another crazy busy episode of Roswell, New Mexico this week! In fact, so many things happened and there are so many cliffhangers, that I am sort of shocked that they are going to be able to wrap everything up in the season finale next week. But I’m assuming it does all get wrapped up considering they were already done filming season two before they got picked up for a third.
Anyways, we start with Michael building the bomb for Helene, which is also in the same room as Cameron’s sister Charlie. They’ve got her tweaking some bio-weapon that will make targets with a specific DNA basically bleed from the inside out. As quickly as it was revealed last week that Helene is seemingly evil, this week we almost as quickly learn that she’s going to use the bomb to take out Jesse Manes, rather than the aliens, for ruining her romance with Jim Valenti. She takes Michael to get Alex, but he leaves him there since the bomb could take out anyone within the Manes bloodline.
At the bar, Isobel tries to get into Maria’s mother’s mind to figure out more information about the bomb, but all she gets out is some cryptic messages for Maria. At the carnival, Liz gets her father to vacate the premises before it is revealed that Graham Greene has an “actual alien artifact,” which just so happens to be the console that Michael has been trying to put together. Sanders warns Michael that if manipulated in the right way, that console is explosive. The gang try to get everyone out of the area before anything bad happens with the console or the bombs.
That’s right, bombs. Flint Manes seems to be almost as despicable as his father. He finds the real bomb intended to take out the aliens and heads for the carnival. Alex is also there and tries to talk his father out of essentially killing himself (he’s too pure for this world!), but Jesse activates it anyways. Maria grabs it and runs, tossing is as far away from everyone as possible, but collapses as Isobel watches blood seep out of her nose and eyes. Yikes! Meanwhile, Liz scurried back to the lab to try and figure out a way to stop the console from exploding. On her way out, we see that Diego followed her there. I still have no clue if he’s a good guy or not. Seems too perfect to be real. When she returns she sees Max using his electrocuting maneuver to take out Flint. In the final minutes we see her faced with the decision to save Max or save a bunch of people.
Whew! Like I said, so much is happening! I feel like we haven’t seen the last of Helene, obviously not the last of Diego, and probably not the last of all Manes men. I also feel like we may end up with a few casualties during this season finale, but I’d be a fool to think they’d kill off Max again. But honestly, good riddance. Anymore he’s just been more destructive than helpful. And would Liz seriously let hundreds of people parish for her boyfriends stupidity? Ugh. I also envision Michael and Alex getting back together by the end of the finale. Also, what’s going to happen to Charlie! last I saw her she was chained to a radiator in a house fire! Kyle’s story this week was pretty blase, and I wonder if Steph will play some vital role come the final hour of the show. So many loose ends! I can’t wait to see how this all wraps up. Stay tuned!
