Sadly, I was only able to get one film in this weekend. I mean, in exchange for less films I did get to see some friends for the first time in over a year and some change, so I’ll take a slow weekend for that. However, I don’t plan on that being the new norm! It wasn’t in the before times, so there’s no need for it to be now.

Weekly Dramas Review
Oh, man! This week saw another spring premiere, and all of them brought the drama! There were tears, there was suspense, and there was audible gasping. That’s good television. Let’s review, shall we?

After a very brief winter hiatus, a couple network shows I watch have made their way back on the air! I’m really talking about two questionable dramas, Prodigal Son and Big Sky. After some fun turns, I have faith that Prodigal Son is going to be decently entertaining moving forward even if they aren’t going to drop the case of the week format. Big Sky is still leaving me feeling unsatisfied, but I recently got my hands on the book the show is based off of, The Highway, so at least I’ll have fun comparing the two.

Another weekend means more movies! I’ve decided to hold off on watching my Cleveland International Film Festival selections for next weekend since there were some new ones out this weekend. Plus, I finally got the chance to hang out indoors with a trusted friend since we’re all vaccinated! Majority rules.

I say nostalgic because most of what I watched was on the older side. Some were new to me, while others I just revisited, but you know I made time for some new films, too. Who would I be if I didn’t? Let’s take a stroll down memory lane first.

I think it will be hard to beat the amount of movies that I did in January (thank you, Sundance), but that does not mean what I’m watching isn’t of quality and that’s all that really matters. While a good chunk of these are new, I did swing back to one of my favorites from 2020. I also managed to get the last best picture nominee in over the weekend! Let’s take a look, shall we?

I realize it is technically still winter, but we’re already a couple of weeks into March! Blame COVID, I suppose. Anyways, I know I missed out on the last several 9-1-1 Lone Star reviews, so I figured I should get you up to speed!

Well, well, well. After a whole year absent of anything Marvel, the fourth phase officially kicked off with their first ever television series, WandaVision! And the stars of this series? Wanda and the very much dead Vision…or so we think? I would suspect that it comes as no surprise to audiences that Vision is in fact still dead, and that this is just Wanda’s way of coping with her grief. But she does so in a very interesting…and morally questionable way.

I gave myself a long weekend, so that means a bunch of movies! While the weekend’s viewings started out light and fun, they eventually morphed into a more serious territory, which I really enjoyed! To be frank, none of these movies were bad, and there was one that rose above the rest, but you can’t go wrong adding any of these titles to your future watch-list.

With a new week this month comes the return of some more of my favorite shows! Well, the return was of Big Sky, so I guess not my favorite shows, but it’s still something.
