Are you really at all surprised that so soon after watching the first two season of A Discovery of Witches that I would start reading the books? It really should come as no shock. Seeing as I burn through shows and movies as quick as I can, I figure if I like something enough I want to read the book before too many details escape my memory. That’s why as soon as I saw it was available I went to the closest library to rent the first book in Deborah Harkness’ All Souls Trilogy, A Discovery of Witches.

Book Review: Badlands by C.J. Box
I told you it wouldn’t be much time before I got my hands on C.J. Box’s second novel in the Cassie Dewell series, Badlands. After the first book, which the show Big Sky followed more closely than I anticipated, I was really curious to see if what’s happened in the second half of the season so far follows Box’s second novel just as closely.

It’s still really the beginning of the week, so that means it’s time to recap the three dramas I’ve got on rotation for the spring 2021 television season!

After a very brief winter hiatus, a couple network shows I watch have made their way back on the air! I’m really talking about two questionable dramas, Prodigal Son and Big Sky. After some fun turns, I have faith that Prodigal Son is going to be decently entertaining moving forward even if they aren’t going to drop the case of the week format. Big Sky is still leaving me feeling unsatisfied, but I recently got my hands on the book the show is based off of, The Highway, so at least I’ll have fun comparing the two.

Whew! About about a month ago I sat down to watch the HBO miniseries starring my main man, Mark Ruffalo, as twins in I Know This Much is True. After finishing all six installments, I really liked it and decided to bite the bullet and read the 900 page book of the same name. I figured with that much in writing, the show surely missed details, but I was wrong!

Aside from the Monsterverse’s latest, there wasn’t really anything new that came out this past week. With all that freedom, I became a bit nostalgic and decided to give a couple titles a re-watch. One of those was a good idea, and the other really wasn’t, but I never claimed to make good decisions all the time! Anyway, this week’s slate was a pretty decent one all around.

Typical me, I saw that this book, The Girl Before by J.P. Delaney, was heading for television, so I picked it up without much more context. In this case, the decision worked out!

I’ve been really trying to get some reading in this week, with success! Also, these are quite different reads, but neither less entertaining than the other.

I gave myself a long weekend, so that means a bunch of movies! While the weekend’s viewings started out light and fun, they eventually morphed into a more serious territory, which I really enjoyed! To be frank, none of these movies were bad, and there was one that rose above the rest, but you can’t go wrong adding any of these titles to your future watch-list.

Sadly, earlier this year, Netflix announced that part four the dark supernatural show, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, would be its last. What a freaking bummer! I was a little nervous because they had filmed parts three and four simultaneously, so I wasn’t sure if it was going to get a good ending. No one likes a cliffhanger that will never get resolved! After finishing the eight episodes the other day, I was quite pleased with what went down. I’ll try to be a non-spoilery as possible going forward, so let’s go witches!
