In a sick twist, Riot Fest and Life is Beautiful have ruined my life by making me choose between seeing My Chemical Romance and Arctic Monkeys on the same day in September. I was so desperate I threw out an Instagram poll! But, the people have spoken, and I ultimately agree with them, that I need to go back to Riot Fest to catch My Chemical Romance. Now, a big reason I agree with this is because I know for a fact a new Arctic Monkeys album is coming, and with that, likely a North American tour. So, I could catch them in the (hopefully) near future. And while My Chemical Romance have apparently been regrouped since 2017, I have heard hind nor hare that new music is coming from them. Why risk never seeing them if I don’t have to? Anyway, all of that for you to enjoy an old ass drawing I did of the band.

Wallows – Tell Me That It’s Over Album Review
Even though I am going to see Wallows over the summer, I was a little nervous to hear their full-length sophomore effort. Their debut had really strong singles, but I was overall supremely disappointed by it, and I was kind of expecting the same thing here. Fear not! Tell Me That It’s Over was actually quite nice!

I listened to Foxy Shazam’s new album in the nick of time! Just kidding, I couldn’t make that release date come any sooner. I’m just glad it came before I got to see the band live again for the first time since before their hiatus (that’s a long time!).

Back during my senior year of high school, Dan Black’s debut album, Un, was on repeat in my car for at least a full year. It was something my sister and I legitimately never grew tired of, and we still love it to this day. Somehow, his follow-up album, some seven years later slipped under our radar, but now I’m finally giving Do Not Revenge its time in the sun.

At the start of a new year, I’ve decided to keep moving along in Miles Kane’s solo catalog with his sophomore effort, Don’t Forget Who You Are. Several years lapsed between this record and the first, but ultimately the style stayed largely the same. A good deal of rock and pop, singing a lot about relationships.

Ever since catching this all girl rock band at the beginning of the month I’ve been listening to some singles by The Beaches on and off. I figured now was as good a time as any to give their full length effort, Late Show, a chance.

I was perhaps the most nervous about listening to the latest album in the Arctic Monkeys discography. From doing some research, I knew this album was going to sound the most different compared to everything else they’ve put out, and Alex Turner is sporting a beard…why? Anyways, let’s dig into Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino.

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve really listened to a lot of Sleigh Bells, but a few months ago when I stumbled upon their single, “Locust Laced,” I knew I’d be looking out for their next album. Well, that time has arrived!

You know what? 2021 has been quite a great year for music! Yes, an extended period of time indoors probably allowed for max creativity for some, but I almost feel spoiled a little bit. Regardless, over the course of the last couple weeks some excellent singles have been released, and I’m going to tell you all about them!
