I believe Jean Smart just knocks anything she’s in out of the park, and this HBO Max original comedy is no exception. Coming strong off the heels as the matriarch of Mare of Easttown, Hacks is decidedly quite opposite in terms of subject matter, but don’t be fooled into thinking there are no serious moments in this series.

Silicon Valley – Seasons 3 & 4
I’m burning through Silicon Valley, so I figured I’d give a light recap of the latest two seasons I watched! This show continues to deliver on laugh out load moments almost too frequent to count, so in my eyes, this comedy is gold.

That’s right, all new movies this weekend! I paid a visit to a theater, checked some out video on demand, and even got to watch a couple from the Milwaukee Film Festival! All were very unique in their own way, and I consider that quite a success!

Of all the long-lasting comedy television legacies out there, for whatever reason, Community finally stood out to me as the one to watch. It probably also helped that it originally started airing in 2009 and that it was all available on Netflix, but who’s counting? Anyway, I’m glad I made the foray into this show, because it is truly hilarious!

Well, it took me way longer to watch the second season of Silicon Valley, much to my dismay, but it was in no way less funny. For a show about technology, I find myself laughing out loud a lot. Ever since this Hulu comedy aired, I seen nothing but praise for it, so I figured it was finally time to check PEN15 out! Straight off the bat I could understand why critics loved this show, but I imagine the casual viewer was probably extremely uncomfortable by most of this show. I personally found myself somewhere in the middle of the spectrum, although the first half of the second season really got me hooked.

You know, this is the second show in a short amount of time that really impressed me because of how well they represented a good friendship. And a male friendship at that! In the first, and hopefully not last, season of Everyone is Doing Great, we see to men in their late twenties really just learning to grow up. This show came as a recommendation that I was a little hesitant to watch but found that I really, really enjoyed it!

I let you all down last week! Although, I promise you, I did in fact watch movies. Just not as many as I have been cranking out recently. With that in mind, I’ve got last week’s films below, as well as the ones that made the cut this week. Because voting for the Independent Spirit Awards will start in just a couple weeks, I’ve been sent screeners for a lot of the nominees, and while I’ve seen most of them, there are still a small handful I’ve been wanting to watch. Now’s my chance!
