The second weekend of Avatar’s Impossible Concert Experience was almost as impressive as the first! I mean, you have to start off strong with brand new live content and then follow that up with a “best of” set. Naturally, like almost every sophomore effort, Age of Illusions, was somewhat disappointing. For me, anyways. I’m less familiar with their catalog than my sister, so she had a hell of a time!

Avatar Age of Dreams Concert Review
Still no live shows for the time being, so the Swedish heavy-metal band, Avatar, has decided to take a really creative route for the live-stream concert experience. For each weekend in January, the band will be putting on a concert, each with its own unique title. This week’s was the Age of Dreams, while the next three weekends we can enjoy Age of Illusions, Age of Madness, and Age of Memories. Collectively, the band is referring to all of this as “An Impossible Concert Experience.”

Ah, the virtual concert. That’s what we’ve been relegated to since early this year, but I’ve grown accustomed to it. At least it is some form of live and current music. Most recently to take the “stage” is former One Direction member, Louis Tomlinson, who just this year released his first solo effort. A friend and I were supposed to see him on tour over the summer, but the Coronavirus had other plans. At this moment in time, the tour is rescheduled for next year, but so far everything about next year seems up in the air. This was a nice substitute anyways.

A concert of epic proportions! Also, I was supposed to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers for a third time back in May until the rona took away all the nice things! I digress, as I can look back at those other two times fondly and share what the experience was like.

The Foos have been busy since performing on Saturday Night Live the weekend after the election! They debuted a new song, announced a new record, and decided to play a virtual show! Since I was supposed to see them back in May and then October, it was a no brainer to buy a ticket to this show.

You know what, since I just listened to and reviewed Haim’s latest musical effort, I thought now would be a great time to reflect on the one and only time I’ve seen them live. It was in 2016 at the wonderful Bunbury Music Festival, so that means the weather was toasty and since it was a music festival that means the crowd was excited! And so was I!

How have I not done a throwback post of this band yet?! Royal Blood is absolutely incredible and with just two members, supremely impressive. I’ve been lucky enough to see them four separate times, and I even experienced them once from the front row!

This is it, the final livestream show I have lined up for 2020 (for now). And what a great performance to end on! Here Come the Mummies delivered a spectacular Halloween inspired livestream show last night and I had a blast watching!

The livestream concerts continue! This time it’s was with a band I have seen many, many times before in a live setting: Motionless in White! As I’m sure I’ve said before, this is my sister’s favorite band, so I’ve seen them close to a dozen times and have grown to appreciate their work. When I saw the announcement of the “deadstream” as they called it, I thought on it for about two minutes before I dropped the cash on it. If anything, me participating in these livestreams is at least helping out bands and their crews during this hard time.

My next livestream concert experience isn’t until next week, so for now we all get to reminisce about the many times I’ve seen 2000’s emo band Motion City Soundtrack. I know someone is likely to read this and tell me they are pop punk, but you’re wrong. They are all sorts of emotional and have toured with the most emo band on this planet (Hawthorne Heights), therefore they are also emo.
