I kind of can’t believe this spin-off series is somehow on it’s fourth season. While it has parts that are extremely over dramatic and corny, I am still totally enthralled by these people’s fictional interpersonal lives. Get ready for a whirlwind of a season!

9-1-1 Lone Star Season 2 Finale
What a strange 2020-2021 season it’s been for network television. Truthfully, this might have been the exact same time 911 Lone Star ended last year, but the pandemic has made time seem both impossibly fast and agonizingly slow. Regardless, I love where the show went this season and I’m glad to see that it got picked up for a third season next year! Anyway, let’s get into the action of last night’s finale episode.

It’s getting down to the wire for my weekly dramas, so of course they were even more dramatic! In fact, to even add to the drama, Prodigal Son went ahead and got itself cancelled. They better have a dang good finale next week. Regardless, let’s see what went down this week.

That’s right, I’m through my weekly primetime dramas, so it’s time to recap all that went down!

Oh, man! This week saw another spring premiere, and all of them brought the drama! There were tears, there was suspense, and there was audible gasping. That’s good television. Let’s review, shall we?

After a very brief winter hiatus, a couple network shows I watch have made their way back on the air! I’m really talking about two questionable dramas, Prodigal Son and Big Sky. After some fun turns, I have faith that Prodigal Son is going to be decently entertaining moving forward even if they aren’t going to drop the case of the week format. Big Sky is still leaving me feeling unsatisfied, but I recently got my hands on the book the show is based off of, The Highway, so at least I’ll have fun comparing the two.

Somehow, I must have really sheltered myself from good TV back from 2013-2015. That’s seems to be the only way I can explain why I never watched Hannibal, and I why I missed out on this too short-lived comedy, Enlisted. Since I am a big fan of the movie 4th Man Out, Parker Young recently posted about a reunion the cast is getting together for coming up in the next couple weeks that I found myself eager to attend. Only thing is, I needed to watch the show first!

Love the reliability of network television in that I get new episodes every week. Yes, it’s nice that certain streaming services dump all of their content at once, but sometimes you never know when you’re going to see that next season (here’s looking at you, Special!). Network television reliably airs weekly in the spring and fall, with a winter break. I love it. Anyways, here’s what happened this week in drama.

It’s been a minute since this mediocre procedural, serial killing show was on the air, but now Prodigal Son is back and I watched the second season premiere with some trepidation. During the first season run I know I made my feelings clear about how I felt let down by all the potential this show had to offer. No, at this point I’m not expecting it to be the next Hannibal, but just give me something!

The beat goes on with my attempt to watch more of the Emmy nominees before the actual Emmy Awards ceremony airs on September 20th. So with that, I landed on FX for Hulu’s nine part miniseries, Mrs. America. Talk about a star-studded affair! Even the small parts were played by well-known actors!
