Concert Review: Motion City Soundtrack
You know, I’ve seen Motion City Soundtrack a number of times over the years, so when I saw a Commit This to Memory 15th anniversary tour, I was actually going to skip out. Firstly, it was scheduled in 2020, then got moved to the middle of winter in Ohio, but then the stars aligned and it got moved again and I saw them at Riot Fest. They were one of the best sets I saw that weekend and it made me remember how freaking awesome they are. So yeah, when I saw the show was approaching, I snatched up tickets.

Back to some mini drawings this week! This time around I wanted to revisit the first ever ball point pen drawing I’d ever done. Back in the tenth grade, I decided to draw Motion City Soundtrack from their album, Commit This to Memory. At the time, I thought it turned out so freaking cool and that’s what spawned me to stick with the pen ever since! Well, looking back at it, it’s sort of rough, but I was thrilled that drawing it this second time around was just as fun. The images are so cool and deserve to be on paper as many times as possible. I’ve got both iterations of this drawing for you, so enjoy.

My next livestream concert experience isn’t until next week, so for now we all get to reminisce about the many times I’ve seen 2000’s emo band Motion City Soundtrack. I know someone is likely to read this and tell me they are pop punk, but you’re wrong. They are all sorts of emotional and have toured with the most emo band on this planet (Hawthorne Heights), therefore they are also emo.
