I’ve been really trying to get some reading in this week, with success! Also, these are quite different reads, but neither less entertaining than the other.

Mega Movie Weekend
I gave myself a long weekend, so that means a bunch of movies! While the weekend’s viewings started out light and fun, they eventually morphed into a more serious territory, which I really enjoyed! To be frank, none of these movies were bad, and there was one that rose above the rest, but you can’t go wrong adding any of these titles to your future watch-list.

You know, for still being in the midst of a pandemic that keeps pushing back the release of so many films, there is still a boatload of new films to be seen! Yes, my Film Independent membership certainly helps with this, but if you look they are there. You just have to be more open to some indie titles!
Read moreChilling Adventures of Sabrina – Final Season
Sadly, earlier this year, Netflix announced that part four the dark supernatural show, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, would be its last. What a freaking bummer! I was a little nervous because they had filmed parts three and four simultaneously, so I wasn’t sure if it was going to get a good ending. No one likes a cliffhanger that will never get resolved! After finishing the eight episodes the other day, I was quite pleased with what went down. I’ll try to be a non-spoilery as possible going forward, so let’s go witches!

My membership with Film Independent is really pulling through with some awesome viewings! I was able to see a small handful of films this past week before they were available to the general public, so I figured I should share with you all on a high level what happened in all of them!
Read moreThe Queen’s Gambit Miniseries Review
Since The Queen’s Gambit came out a couple months ago, I have yet to see a bad or even somewhat disappointed review for it. Now I understand why! This was one of the strongest series I’ve ever watched and it was something I know next to nothing about: chess! This, coupled with Ted Lasso, proves that if a show is written and acted really well, then it doesn’t matter how seemingly boring your subject matter is. If you would have told me at the start of the year that the best fictionalized television I would watch was about soccer and chess I would have laughed in your face. They have proven me wrong.

As I mentioned with my last movie review, I recently became a member of Film Independent, which features a lot of independent films. Those are usually the Oscars’ favorites, and they’re mine, too! It’s sort of crazy the amount of content that’s available for Film Independent members, and you’ll definitely catch me taking advantage of it. That being said, most of these films are available to me before they are to the general public, so I’ll keep these reviews as spoiler free as I can!

There were some brand new films this week, some insufferable ones, and even some from HBO Max this weekend! Let’s dive in!
Read moreBook Review: There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins
Ever since I heard that Stephanie Perkins’ novel, There’s Someone Inside Your House, was getting adapted into a film at Netflix, I’ve been itching to get my hands on it. Despite it being a young adult novel, the premise (and the title, come on) sounded perfectly creepy and right up my alley! And it was! This delivered both the spooks and the gore and I hope they really commit in the adaptation.
Read moreCobra Kai Season 1
Back a few years ago when the first season of Cobra Kai hit Youtube Red, it was a certified hit. Sure, it hit all the nostalgic notes, but it also managed to produce something totally new without a reboot. It sparked my interest, but I never wanted to pay for the subscription. Then it moved to Netflix for its upcoming third season and the show made my shortlist! Being a fan of The Karate Kid, I had decent expectations for this show.
