It’s been about six years since I’ve seen uber-talented singer-songwriter, Declan McKenna, in concert, so I was very pleased to get the chance to do it again.

Concert Review: So Much For (Tour) Dust
In case there is any question as to whose concert this was, it was Fall Out Boy. Clearly a play on their recently released album, So Much (for) Stardust. I believe this marks the fifth or sixth time I’ve seen these guys, so did my sister and I really need to get tickets to go? No. But when the prices drop so low on resale, well, then we had to!

There have been so many new songs released over the past few weeks and I have been seriously slacking on checking them out. Thus, you get a bunch all at once. Go check these out for yourselves!

I have had The Pink Spiders on rotation in my life since Teenage Graffiti came out, but this is the first time I’ve returned to new music from them in earnest. I know there was a bit of a rocky history as far as permanent members went beyond lead singer Matt Friction, so I’d say that’s the reason I never quite stayed current with them.

How are we getting so lucky with so much good new music?! The rare gifts of the pandemic are still plenty it seems, and I’m not complaining. It’s been six years since Queens of the Stone Age have released new music, but they sure managed to deliver with In Times New Roman…

Even though I’ve seen this well-regarded metal band live twice in my life, I think this is the first album of theirs that I’ve actually listened to in full. In fact, the last full length album they released was seven years ago – I didn’t even have a blog then! But Avenged Sevenfold is back with Life Is but a Dream… and I gave it my full attention with zero expectations.

Even though I just saw the Foo Fighters a few weeks ago, I couldn’t bring myself to immediately listen to their latest record, But Here We Are, coming just slightly over a year after the passing of the band’s longtime drummer, Taylor Hawkins. Then I learned that Dave Grohl’s mother passed a month after Taylor and I knew I was going to be in for a gut-punch of a record.
