I just really, really like the way Rainbow Rowell writes. I think I have officially read every novel she’s written, and I just find comfort in her prose. Heck, even the 1999 setting of Attachments filled me with a happy nostalgia rather than annoyance.

Book Review: Landline by Rainbow Rowell
Given that I’ve really enjoyed all of the other books I’ve read by Rainbow Rowell, I’m surprised it took me this long to read Landline! I would consider this an adult novel compared to her Simon Snow trilogy and Fangirl, but it was just as great and easy of a read!

Now, based on the title of Rainbow Rowell’s latest book, Any Way the Wind Blows, one would think this is a song about Queen. Well, just like her prior two novels in this trilogy weren’t about Kansas, then this one is certainly not about that great rock band either. In fact, this book is about magic, and young adults dealing with all sorts of crap, so that’s almost an equally as fun time for me. To read, of course.

It’s been a decent start to my reading year, but the spotlight I want to shine is on Rainbow Rowell’s young adult novels, Carry On and Wayward Son. Does this author have an affinity for that one Kansas song? I would assume so. Either way, these novels follow a world of mages from London as they try to battle the unknown and just generally survive.
