Sometimes you win with bargain book purchases, but sometimes you find mediocre ones. This was one of those times. Again, I’m not saying anything was outright bad with Sara Blaedel’s novel, The Midnight Witness, but I’d say if you ask me next month what this was about I couldn’t tell you much of anything.

Book Review: The Sanitorium by Sarah Pearse
Well, I’ve accidentally stumbled upon the first book in a new detective series. When I look up Sarah Pearse’s debut novel, The Sanitorium, it is listed as the first of the Elin Warner series. I can’t say at this point that I’ll read any more in this series, but overall this was an enjoyable read.

Only after I’ve finished this hefty crime thriller did I find out it belongs to a series written by Faye Kellerman. In fact, Bone Box the 24th installment of the series. Fail. But, my mother was kind enough to pick it up for me, and not many parts of the book ended up being confusing, which was a relief. With that being said, let’s get into it!
