I write “season 1 review,” because I sincerely hope we get more seasons of The Gentlemen. Do I think Netflix was the best place for this series? No. I think it could have guaranteed itself a better future on Prime, but I’m just hoping the algorithms and whatever fake viewing data they gather is enough for more.

To be honest, I don’t think I ever knew that Life & Beth was getting a second season, let alone that it was going to drop when it did. There needs to be some more advertising of this show, or hyping it up somehow, because it’s likely with how the television landscape is nowadays, there might not be a third season.

True Detective: Night Country Review

You know, I’ve owned the first season of True Detective since it was released and I’ve still never watched the whole thing. I know it’s the best season out there, and it was basically at the very beginning of the reintroduction of the “golden age of television,” but I just haven’t mustered the desire to finish it yet. And for whatever reason, two bad seasons later I decided to tune in for Night Country.

Back in the day I was real hot and heavy with Liane Moriarty’s books. I’ve since fallen off, which is why I never read the book that this miniseries is based off of. Both the book and the series share the same name, Apples Never Fall, but I actually won’t be able to weigh in on how closely the series sticks to the source material.
