Since The Queen’s Gambit came out a couple months ago, I have yet to see a bad or even somewhat disappointed review for it. Now I understand why! This was one of the strongest series I’ve ever watched and it was something I know next to nothing about: chess! This, coupled with Ted Lasso, proves that if a show is written and acted really well, then it doesn’t matter how seemingly boring your subject matter is. If you would have told me at the start of the year that the best fictionalized television I would watch was about soccer and chess I would have laughed in your face. They have proven me wrong.

The Undoing Miniseries Review
I’ve only recently been able to enjoy what HBO Max has to offer, but so far it has not been disappointing! Yes, I missed the initial run of this superstar miniseries, The Undoing, when it first premiered on HBO, but I’m really not that far off the rest of the world so kudos to me. The six episodes had me guessing, and that made for a very entertaining ride.

I stretched the second season of Cobra Kai out a little bit compared to the first, but it was no less exciting or awesome! The second season essentially picks up right were the first season left off, with Kresse showing up at Johnny’s Cobra Kai dojo and Sam joining Miyagi-Do. Where this season ends is really crazy, so I’m glad I don’t have much of a wait for the third season to premiere on Netflix!

Only five episodes in and we’ve already reached rookie show, Big Sky‘s winter finale. That’s right, we’ve got to wait a whole agonizing month (my sister’s words, not mine) to figure out what the heck is going to come after that insane cliffhanger! More on that in just a bit.

Alright, I clearly suck at watching this show in a timely manner, but I promise I’ll do better! Even though there is only one more episode of Big Sky set to air before its “winter break,” I still promise to have it reviewed on Wednesday! I swear it!

A couple of weeks ago, FX premiered an excellent British drama called Black Narcissus, and I was hooked from the start. I was actually quite sad that it was only three parts. In an interesting move on FX’s part, all three episodes aired back to back. I didn’t watch these live, so it had no impact on me, but I still thought it was an interesting move.

It’s the penultimate episode of this fourth installment of Fargo, and I’m really excited to see how it all plays out. After a cool and creative deviation last week, this week reverts back to the storylines we’re used to and plays out a string of events so delicious I might as well have been salivating while watching the episode.

What a strange, strange comedy Kidding was. This two-season show starring Jim Carrey had me confused from start to finish. I recognize it was more of a dark comedy, but even the premise had me feeling sort of out of body. It probably also didn’t help that it took place in Ohio. Strange.

It’s official, Apple+ has the strangest catalog of shows out there, and Servant basically made that decision for me. I recall back when the streaming service launched, this was one of the first shows it premiered. The fact that it was produced by M Night Shyamalan was supposed to be the big seller here, and I guess it was because that’s ultimately why I watched it. That, and it was shrouded in mystery! If someone had asked me what I thought the show was about all I could was “a baby.”

Well, well, well. I see you Fargo and your very cinematic black and white episode! I also see your nod to The Wizard of Oz! This creative turn is a nice reset for the remaining episodes of the fourth season of Fargo!
