I know it’s only been a few weeks since I posted a Rafael Nadal drawing, but this week there is good reason! He won his 1000th ATP match! That’s a pretty big accomplishment. Even better, it means that he’s still playing at a high level and that makes me extremely happy. Vamos Rafa!!!

Book Review: Defending Jacob by William Landay
It’s been a short while since I watched Apple +’s adaptation of Defending Jacob, a novel written by William Landay. Since I’ve been burned this year by reading before watching, I decided to finally follow my old advice and read the book after I’ve watched the show. This is crucial! Personally, I am never disappointed by a book whenever I read it, but I am always disappointed by a show or film if I’ve watched it after reading. There is just no way for them to capture all the details that make a novel special.

How have I not done a throwback post of this band yet?! Royal Blood is absolutely incredible and with just two members, supremely impressive. I’ve been lucky enough to see them four separate times, and I even experienced them once from the front row!

That’s right, I burned through two seasons of Workaholics so quickly that I just decided to write about them at the same time. The last of the film festivals (for now) ended last night with the Savannah Film Festival, and I managed to squeeze in a few more movies! I did get let down by one screening, but I suppose it was my fault. I bought a ticket for a movie that was only available in Georgia…where I do not live. Fail. Oh well, hopefully I get the chance to watch that film sooner than it is available to the mass public. So with that disappointment out of the way I got to watch two others that were very different from each other.

This is it, the final livestream show I have lined up for 2020 (for now). And what a great performance to end on! Here Come the Mummies delivered a spectacular Halloween inspired livestream show last night and I had a blast watching!

Back at the start of the year I was really excited to learn about The Great, a new show that was coming to Hulu penned by one of the writers of The Favourite. And starring Nicholas Hoult alongside Elle Fanning! I didn’t watch it straight away and then the Emmy shows took some precedence, so I’ve only just now gotten around to watching this comedy-drama, and slightly true telling of the early days of Catherine the Great of Russia.
