Ed Sheran’s fourth official release has been in my possession for quite some time now, but until today I hadn’t given it the full listen-through. Sure, I’d heard many singles from the No. 6 Collaborations Project, but it didn’t encompass the full scope of the record.

Album Review: Silverstein, A Beautiful Place to Drown
I don’t know if I’m just not paying that much attention, but it seems like post-hardcore’s stalwarts, Silverstein, just keep cranking out albums at an insane pace. It didn’t feel like that long ago I was at Warped Tour having the band sign my copy of their latest release, Dead Reflection…but apparently, it’s been three years! Anyways, as I was finishing up a drawing, I popped in their latest effort, A Beautiful Place to Drown.

My music listening continues! As does my drawing, which is why the music is happening more. This time, I popped in Tame Impala’s records, Currents and The Slow Rush. Even though I’ve been a fan of White Reaper for a few years, I still hadn’t presented myself with the opportunity to listen to their third full length, You Deserve Love, that came out this past October. Just like the People’s Choice Awards, the American Music Awards really aren’t that much better. They are both voted on by the fans, but the nominees are obvious and repetitive among so many categories. Despite me not being a huge fan of top 40 music, I was pretty entertained by the musical performances, and there were a ton of them!

While the Grammy’s are frustrating in the way that they almost completely ignore rock, the People’s Choice Awards are frustrating in that seriously poor performances win all of the awards!

I’ve have been eagerly anticipating Highly Suspect’s new album since their sophomore album got them two more Grammy nominations. And I’ve got to say, it was totally worth the wait! This is one of the most eclectic evolutions I’ve seen a band successfully make in a long time.
