AFI Film Festival

Not much good has come out of this pandemic, so imagine my surprise when something actually awesome happens?! Film Festivals all over the world have either had to cancel or postpone, but now a large handful have caught onto the streaming bug, and this works out magically for me! Usually attended by locals or strictly critics, this change of events has given me an unseen advantage. I, just a lowly film fan, gets to watch potential Oscars films ahead of the masses!

Fandoms, Interviews, and Zoom Panels During Quarantine

Look, COVID-19 has prevented a lot of cool things from taking place this year, and I imagine it will continue to steam-roll the rest of 2020. This makes me really sad, as I’ve had to miss out on countless concerts and a handful of semi-local conventions. I look forward to these types of events because, if it’s not obvious, I love all things famous! And what better way to hear from, gaze at from afar, or straight up meet in person than at a convention?!

Abandon Ship! Shows

You know, I watch a bunch of shows, and while 98% of them are satisfying (because I do some research), there are still just a few that fall through the cracks. It’s not necessarily that they are bad, but they just don’t hold my interest, which I’m sure is the case for many people. Maybe it’s because I have all this extra time not spent at the movie theater this year, but I’ve found a few shows that literally pained me to watch, so I just decided to…stop.

Fan Art Friday: Hannibal

In case it’s not incredibly obvious by now, I am as obsessed with Hannibal as Hannibal is with Will Graham. So naturally, I’ve done another piece, but this time they’re both in it! Most of it is pen, but the blood and antlers are painted (acrylic and watercolor, respectively). Truthfully, I am VERY pleased with how this turned out. I forgot how fun it is to paint blood, too!

The Boys Review

I’m finally starting to use Amazon Prime Video to its full potential (in my opinion), so with that I’ve just finished the freshman season of the gritty graphic novel adaptation of The Boys. Aside from it being gritty, it is also vulgar, bloody, and violent. Three of my favorite things! This show is not for the flowery faint of heart folks. This show packs a punch in the most fun way!
