We Own This City – Miniseries Review

As a somewhat newfound Jon Bernthal fan, I was really excited to get to watch this six-part miniseries, We Own This City, based off of actual events that happened within the Baltimore Police Department over the better part of two decades. I was even more excited because I knew it was written by the same people who were responsible for the critically acclaimed, The Wire, and that it was going to be directed by King Richard‘s Reinaldo Marcus Green.

Somebody Somewhere – Season 1

This show! Bridget Everett really only came into my life a couple of years ago when I watched the film Patti Cake$ (which, go watch it already!), and I’ve been looking out for her in things ever since. She’s just got such a calming presence and voice and I just want to hug this woman! But instead of doing that, I will settle for her excellent new show, Somebody Somewhere.

The Other Two – Season 2

Oh my gosh! I definitely never thought I’d ever see the second season of this incredible comedy. Back in January of 2019, the first season of The Other Two premiered on Comedy Central, and then after it aired and I laughed a bunch, I never heard anything about it. When it finally got picked up for a second season, the well of information ran dry again, but then a second season finally saw the light of day later last year.

The Staircase Miniseries Review

I am not generally into true crime, that is, unless it’s made into a fictionalized show or movie with a bunch of actors that I love case. Case in point: The Staircase. This HBO Max miniseries is based off the documentary of the same name that was fairly recently all the rage on Netflix. Well, now this story has finally made its way to me.
