Since I was too lazy to post yesterday, you are going to get to read about my take on both of FOX’s Monday night shows that I watch. Nothing obscenely exciting, but just a nice recap and my gut reaction.

Since I don’t have too many shows airing at once right now, I’ve bit the bullet and decided to stay current with the back half of This is Us. I watched last week’s episode over the weekend and wasn’t sure if I was going to follow suit this week…but I did, so keep reading for a brief recap!

Before I get into what happened on Monday night’s winter premiere episode of Prodigal Son, let’s step briefly back in time and remember where we left off. First, the FBI is now involved in the Junkyard Killer case, Martin is in solitary confinement, Jessica is trying to find the victim related to the charm bracelet, and oh yeah, Malcolm gets kidnapped by the Junkyard Killer, aka John Watkins.

Having not watched the original incantation of Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear’s 9-1-1, I decided to give its spin-off, 9-1-1 Lone Star, a chance for some strange reason. Most of that reason is because I’m a Rob Lowe fan, and it was cool to see how much diversity was in the casting.

I feel that they ended it in a way where it can be done forever, and based on the lack of awards it’s won this awards season, it could be actually be done.

Even though it’s a new year, all the shows I watch are still on a break, so that means my stingy-ass got a free week trial of HBO Now to watch the first season of Succession (season 2 is already on my DVR from another free trial period). I will say, binging the ten episodes in under a week was intense, but ultimately SO worth it! The awards and recognition it receives totally makes sense!

Wow! What a way to start off the 2020 awards season! I don’t feel that I’m alone in this, but there were some serious surprise wins at the Golden Globes last night, and I’m ready to unpack it all. Winners, snubs, and all things cool and strange.
