Foals: Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 2

Foals did what The 1975 claimed they were going to do, put out two records in one year. Where The 1975 failed, Foals succeeded! And Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 2 was by no means an afterthought, or a group of leftover songs. This record tells it’s own story while still keeping with a similar tone to Part 1.

Truth be told, I did not enjoy this record as thoroughly as the first release, but there were certainly strong contenders! My favorites off the album included, “The Runner,” “Black Bull,” and “Wash Off.” “The Runner” is an awesome rock track that really runs deep and hard for the band. It is reminiscent of songs off of Holy Fire for me.

Two tracks were more intro and interludes, which seemed like a waste of space, but the ending track, “Neptune,” running just over ten minutes, tried its best to make up for it. Some songs my dad listens to are about that long, and feel that long, but this was very smooth and a nice way to round out these ten songs.

Do I think that all of these songs could have been included on Part 1? Definitely. Am I sad that I got two records in one year? Absolutely not. This is most certainly a record you need to add to your must list, especially if you were a fan of the first outing. Now I’m just ready for some close tour dates!
