I’m back on the live comedian kick, and I’m loving it! This past Friday, my sister and I headed over to Pittsburgh Improv to catch one of our favorite comedians/commentators from MTV’s Guy Code, Andrew Schulz!
I know that you’re thinking that MTV is not a real great credit on a resume, but his comedic chops are further backed by the hilarious clips he posts on social media, along with his podcast. If you need proof, I highly recommend listening to his story about a bear and his experience skydiving. You can thank me later.
Either way, the show opened with a comic I’d never heard of, but he was funny enough. Right after he was done, he announced that we had special guest. A very special guest indeed – it was Sal from Impractical Jokers! He was in the are stopping at theaters promoting their new movies, but he stopped by to support Andrew. His impromptu set was pretty short, but he joked about something we all love: food. It was an awesome addition to the night, so I was very happy!
Andrew came out to thunderous applause, and he totally deserved it. One of my favorite things about Andrew is his heavy New York accent, and the fact that he cracks himself up. Have you ever noticed that comedians have the weirdest laughs? Well, Andrew does, too. His set was lengthy and he left no taboo topic off the table. I believe I laugh at everything, so nothing was too offensive for me, but there were definitely some uncomfortable faces in the room. Overall though, the room was team Andrew all night. I had a blast, and I’m so glad I finally got to see him live. I’m sure I’ve said it before, but if you like laughing, go see some live comedy!
