That’s right. Sometimes I go to things other than concerts. And I like to laugh! So seeing Silicon Valley‘s TJ Miller live seemed like a no-brainer!
At a small comedy club, a friend and I set out Saturday night to get some laughs in. To start off the show was Miller’s podcast-mate, Cash Levy who asked the audience a lot of questions, and they did not disappoint with unusual answers. I believed Levy when he said he wasn’t even sure how to make fun of some of the stuff people were saying. For instance, when asking about people’s jobs, instead of the usual trades you’d think of, our audience had a wood-worker and someone who just sold their company. He did his best though, and had a lot of fun crowd interaction.
When Miller took the stage, he took some of the energy that came from Levy’s set and rolled with it. So that means we talked about wild turkeys for a bit. My favorite part of the show was Miller talking about his cats. I’ve never related to someone more in my life. In my opinion, his strongest comedic moments came when he’d yell ridiculous sounds and when he’d be imitating people by lowering his mic down.
Miller also threw in some other talents, like juggling cigar boxes and multiple ventriloquist dummies (NOT my favorite part). Overall, it was a really fun show, and the crowd was pretty respectful (for the most part). I know he spent several nights at that venue, but I felt like we got the full spectrum of his talents. This live show reminds me how much I love comedy!
