New Movies in Review

I watched new movies! Yay! And at the rate this year is turning out, I may be watching several more from my home, which I can definitely work with. A wide range of films this weekend, so prepare for randomness.

The Rental – In Dave Franco’s directorial debut, he brings to life a fear I never really knew I had. What if your Airbnb was owned by a creeper?! I’d call this a slow-burn thriller and it was very well executed!

Scoob! – Even back when I saw an article about this I knew I wouldn’t like it. Nothing compares to the original Scooby-Doo run, and although I really admire them for recreating the original opening credits, that’s where my appreciation stops. Go back and watch almost any other version of Scooby-Doo.

The Kissing Booth 2 – While not quite as comedic or charming as the original, the second film did bring in some new characters, new conflict, and I’m here for it.

The Good Doctor – I would assume that the show with the same name is probably better; however, neither of them are related in any sense other than the fact that they’re both doctors. Orlando Bloom is sporting some truly questionable hair, but otherwise it was a mediocre thriller.
