I’ll admit, I’m late to the Jodie Comer party. Killing Eve has been on my watch list for quite some time now, but it’s still decently far back in the queue. Besides her award winning turn on that hit show, she hasn’t really done much else. Well, that all changed this year when she gave great performances in two drastically different film offerings. The first was Free Guy, which ended up not being quite as funny as I would have hoped, and the latter was The Last Duel. Perhaps that dramatic role is what’s garnered her the most buzz in recent years. She gives a terse performance dealing in very serious subject matter. Her name is still floating around for awards season, and wouldn’t that just be the icing on the cake of her very young career? Anything is possible, but I can’t wait to see what else she’s got in store for the future!

I didn’t think it was possible for The Morning Show to be more chaotic than its first season, but they proved me wrong. Now, just because it was more chaotic doesn’t mean it was any less entertaining. Less satisfying? Maybe. But let’s dig into that below.

I will say, the second full length album from Mini Mansions, The Great Pretenders, is a winner. As soon as the first track kicks off, I was hooked.

When I first heard about Schmigadoon! coming to Apple+ I was excited by the cast, but then I learned it would be a musical and I swiftly changed my mind. But you know, maybe I’m coming around to musicals. I did just recently enjoy Tick, Tick…Boom! but I suppose I shouldn’t go making assumptions.

Not quite as many movies as I’d have hoped for with a four day holiday weekend, but I can’t complain too much. I’ve got some more time off coming up here, so I know I’ll be making up for it.

It’s hard to believe this band has been around since 2009! I first heard of Mini Mansions a few years ago with a song off of their third full length album. Up until my recent obsession with The Last Shadow Puppets, I hadn’t really considered giving the rest of the band’s catalog much time. Obviously, that’s changed. Instead of starting with what I knew, I decided to start from the beginning with their self-titled debut album.

Okay, let me preface this review by saying there will be spoilers! I think I’m pretty late to the party for this original Hulu comedy, Only Murders in the Building, so I don’t know that I’ll be spoiling it for many people, but still, you’ve been warned.

I’ve been a pretty big fan of Adam Driver for quite some time now. Sure, he’s probably most known for his turn as the bad guy Kylo Ren in the latest trio of Star Wars movies, but he’s been in plenty of great indie films and three great turns hosting SNL. If I had to recommend anything to you that he’s in that I’ve seen so far it would be Logan Lucky and Marriage Story. Personally, I’m looking forward to House of Gucci, and there’s another future film of his that’s got me excited for all sorts of reasons I can’t divulge right now, but just be patient. You’ll hear about it soon enough.

Now that I’ve made it through all of Arctic Monkeys’ current catalog, I figured I should give more live performances a listen, since I can’t see them in person yet. Although I am getting my hopes up for next year since drummer Matt Helders recently confirmed that their seventh full length is on its way to being complete, and they just announced a couple of shows over in Europe slated for the end of the year!

It’s felt like it’s been a while since I wrote a book review, but I promise I’m reading! In fact, I’ve just finished the young adult novel, We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. It reminded me a bit of Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver, but you’ll have to read to find out why I think that. In the meantime, here’s my high level review of the novel.
