Back when the promise of a part two of PEN15 got announced, I never could have imagined that the eight episodes remaining would be last ones! That’s right, our time spent with these awkward 30-somethings playing their middle school selves is now officially over. Great television all around, though.

For some reason (COVID, really), all the good movies are being released within this very short one month window, so I’m trying my hardest to see as many as I can. I’ve been excited about some of these for quite some time, so it was a great week for me if I’m being honest. Check out what made the cut!

I was just preparing myself to see Jon Bernthal at a local comic con when a trailer for BJ Novak’s The Premise came out. I saw Jon Bernthal pop his head in and that was all the convincing I needed. Not only that, but there were only five half hour episodes making up this anthology series, so I knew it wasn’t going to be a huge time commitment either. The results were bizarre, but the social commentary was like a blinding light, making me laugh quite a bit.

Obviously, as I make my way through my obsession of The Last Shadow Puppets, it’s only natural that I listen to one of the core member’s solo music. Thus, I am listening to Miles Kane’s first solo record, Colour of the Trap. Spelt that way because he’s British, but I’d probably let him get away with it even if he weren’t.

After binge-watching all fourteen seasons of the record breaking comedy It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, I have been eagerly awaiting the latest season to air. And approximately four weeks ago, it premiered! Airing two at a time, to an even shorter eight episode season, a lot of their time was spent in Ireland! Even though they were in Europe, they still managed to be their usual awful selves and cause all sorts of mayhem.

Love her or hate her, she’s Lady Gaga. I would consider myself a middle of the road fan. I appreciate her music to a degree and I’ve seen the handful of things she’s acted in. Back when House of Gucci came out, this picture of her popped up and I just knew I had to draw it! So, enjoy.

Oh man, it was a very antsy waiting period, but now that I’ve experienced the highly anticipated third season of Succession, I can confirm that it was totally worth the discomfort. Speaking of discomfort, the Roy family didn’t let up on any of their ruthless antics this season, and the level of betrayal is at an all time high. Let’s review, shall we? Also, SPOILER warning so you’re prepared.

For whatever reason, Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo took me a lifetime to read! And I’m mad at myself for it, because it was a good book! Life just got in the way, but I did finally finish this extremely popular young adult novel the other day.

Before you all get your panties in a bunch, I will be seeing Spider-Man: No Way Home in the next couple of days. It just didn’t make the cut this weekend. But, the films that did make the cut were all pretty dang good, and two of them were supporting independent film!

Alright, technically it’s not Friday, but it’s still fine for me to post some deserving fan art! I would like to point out though that this is some throwback fan art, as I’m currently in the middle of a new drawing you’ll have to wait and see next week. With Don’t Look Up in select theaters and hitting Netflix next week, I figured it was a great time to welcome Jennifer Lawrence back into the fold of acting after she took some time off the last couple of years. I can’t wait to see this movie, and I especially can’t wait to see Lawrence on screen again. Who knows, maybe soon she’ll get a new drawing, too!
