Finally….the Tenet Film Review!

After much fanfare and many delays, Christopher Nolan’s latest epic, Tenet finally hit theaters yesterday for early access and I was totally there to see it. And just like the other films I’ve seen at my local theater, not a single other living sole was watching it with me. A little sad, but I was ultimately grateful for it. Let’s just say that despite all the hype that this film was receiving, it didn’t totally live up to it, and I’ll try to explain why without giving away all its secrets. Although, if you watch all the trailers available for it, you pretty much have the entire movie plot at your fingertips.

The Weekend in Movies

This weekend I managed to watch some truly “excellent” movie choices, as well as venture back into the theaters. I only chose to wade back into that reality because I knew that (and was correct that) my local theater would have only 0-5 people in attendance. Regardless, I kept my mask on the whole time and made sure to steer clear of any other people. Overall, it was an unexpectedly fulfilling weekend with some truly bizarre films.

Concert Throwback: Arcade Fire

I have been listening to so much Arcade Fire this week and it brought me back to the two times I was able to see them live about four years apart. While I wasn’t a fan from the very start of their existence, I did become one well before they dominated at the Grammys and took home Album of the Year for The Suburbs, much to the chagrin of most of the world. Everything this band produces is so unique and deeply profound that I can’t help but to connect to all of it, even in some small way.

Little Fires Everywhere Miniseries Review

It took me longer than it should have, but I finally finished watching the miniseries adaptation of Celeste Ng’s novel, Little Fires Everywhere. Ultimately, I think it took me so long because I didn’t really find it all that enjoyable. Maybe it’s because I read the book first, or because I didn’t wait long enough in between reading it and watching it that it didn’t feel fresh or compelling? Those are both very valid reasons, and probably both true to some degree. Let’s dig in a little bit.

Movies, Movies, Movies!

Taking time off and nowhere to go means I got to watch a lot more movies this past week and weekend! I also ventured back to the theater this week! Although I made sure to pick a time where it was likely the no one would be present. Watching a movie with a mask on was also a cake walk, so you can all do it, too! Either way, almost everything I watched this past week was definitely unique and quite the ride. Some are certainly worth checking out, so below is quick recap to wet your appetite!

Fan Art Friday: Andy Biersak

I was staring at my walls this morning, realized I didn’t post anything for Fan Art Friday, and then my eyes zeroed in on this older drawing I did of Andy Biersack. Thanks to Warped Tour, I’ve had the opportunity to meet this fine man, and not only is he gorgeous, but he’s extremely talented and kind. From his lead man status in Black Veil Brides, to his solo career, he also finds time to act and host a sports-themed talk show! He hails from my home state, too, so I’m obviously partial in that regard. Anyways, this is an older drawing I did of Andy, but his eyes are captivating and I can’t help myself. Enjoy!
