Hey all! While it was a slow start to the year with concerts for me, summer has been making up for it generously with some legit tours! And riding into that awesome wave was the co-headlining tour of Korn and Alice in Chains that I had the opportunity to attend last night! The crowds were wild and the music was blaring, so that means I had a great time!
On the drive to the venue my sister and I decided to drop the extra cash to buy a premier parking pass so we could avoid walking four miles to the entrance and could make it home afterwards at a decent hour. Totally worth it! I was also super awesome and picked so pretty decent seats! Also, we were lucky enough to have good weather – no humidity, yay!
The show kicked off with hip hop group, Ho99o9 (pronounced Horror), who quite frankly, weren’t my style, so I’m jealous of the rest of the tour dates getting to see Fever 333 – those guys kill it! Shortly after their set, one of my all time favorites, Underoath went on and knocked out mainly new tracks in their short set, but they were packed with energy (and some seriously dope dance moves)! In a relatively brief amount of time Alice in Chains hit the stage and the crowd was all about it. They packed in the seats and the lawn and every song was met with wild applause and hollering after. Like Ho99o9, they are not my favorite band either, so I took that time to get some grub, but they still sounded really good.
Finally, Korn took the stage and I don’t think people stopped cheering the entire set. I don’t think JD wanted them to either! Three outfit changes and a set of bagpipes made their set electric and intense. People around me were losing their minds with every new song, like it was the first and last time they would ever hear it, and that speaks volumes about that band. Front man Jonathan Davis spoke about how Korn’s 25th anniversary was coming up this October and it’s crazy to think that they still put out new music about every other year and draw the dedicated crowds is a testament to how truly amazing they are. Vocals were on point, the base was jamming, and those drums just shook the ground! They played almost all their hits (sadly no “Y’all Want a Single” or “A.D.I.D.A.S”), and even rocked their newest single “You’ll Never Find Me.”
If this tour stops near you, you have to go! All the bands will rock your socks off….and you’ll get four hours of quality music and an epic experience. More concerts to come this week, so stay tuned!
