In preparation for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, I figured it’d be wise to be up to speed on all things Marvel. That means I “binge watched” all six episodes of Moon Knight since the finale aired this past week on Disney+. Now, did I know if this show would have any crossover with the latest film? No, but anything is possible.

Heartstopper – Season 1
I saw this half hour, British, coming-of-age rom com advertised to me a number of places over the past couple of weeks, but Heartstopper just looked like something a little too young for my taste. That was a stupid assumption and statement to make because I watch high school centered crap all the time! What really sealed the deal though was seeing how well the show was being received and then learning of the great Olivia Colman’s involvement.

So many “original” independent films were released this weekend. Obviously, I say that with a huge dose of sarcasm because there are excellent independent films hitting theaters all the time. People just aren’t paying attention. The reason I think they are this time around is because they’re touting some heavy A-list hitters. Although, most awesome independent films I watch have heavy A-list talent. For some reason people are only just now paying attention…I digress. Let’s see what made the cut this weekend.

Back during the start of the pandemic, I watched the miniseries Mrs. Fletcher on HBO. I had no clue it was based on a novel of the same name, so when I saw it discounted at my local bookstore, I snatched it up right away. The SAG Awards kept me busy most of Sunday night, but I still managed to get some new movies in this weekend.
Read moreBook Review: Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
Much like other immensely popular things, I choose not to believe the hype about Delia Owens debut fiction effort, Where the Crawdads Sing. This usually means I’ll never check these things out (here’s looking at you Harry Potter), or I will check them out many moons later. I realize the 2018 wasn’t all that long ago, but really got me interested in reading this bestseller was the film adaptation involvement of excellent actor, Harris Dickinson. With that being said, I was still really hesitant to read this book about a swamp hick.
Read moreBook Review: Ragdoll by Daniel Cole
If this title of this crime thriller seems familiar, it’s probably because I wrote a review about the show a short while ago! While watching that six-part saga, I learned that it was based off a book series and knew I had to get my hands on Daniel Cole’s work ASAP. Thus, here is my review of the novel, Ragdoll.

Even with starting off the weekend with Drive My Car‘s three hour saga, I was still able to squeeze in a ton of other movies! And to counter-balance all the rom-coms this weekend provided, there was plenty of murders to go around.
