Let me tell you what, I was not expecting to be impressed with any other BLs this year, but I stand corrected! Well, it’s actually two BLs! I started a new one called Last Twilight without realizing they were only half way through airing episodes, but I was so taken with the leads played by actors named Jimmy and Sea, that I sought out what else they’ve done together. And that led me to Vice Versa.

Dangerous Romance Series Review
Another week, another Thai BL drama! This was a relatively new show and apparently with a newer GMMTV couple as the leads. Dangerous Romance wasn’t my favorite out there, but I really enjoyed it overall.

Again, as far as I can tell, almost every single Thai BL series is a one and done situation. I believe the same thing goes for this 2023 series, Bed Friend, but I kind of wish there were more. Yes, there is a spinoff series featuring a supporting character, but it’s not the same!

More BL dramas! What else should you be expecting by now? There are just so many and they are right at my fingertips in an endless flow. This time around the internet led me to Hidden Agenda.

God bless the Youtube algorithm! After my month’s long (and let’s be real, it’s still going) obsession with KinnPorsche The Series, the numbers and formulas decided that Only Friends was right up my alley. And they were so right!
In fact, it was this show, only six episodes in when I came across it, was the catalyst for all of the other GMMTV shows that I’ve watched in between. The only difference is that everything else I’ve watched up to this point was already completed. Because trust me, if Only Friends had been, I might have burned through all twelve episodes in one day. I will say that until I watched Love in the Air, this was almost as racy KinnPorsche, but it was still one of the most racy of the BL series I had tuned into, so I was pretty into it. They took the relationships to a much more real level, and for that, I am grateful.
The show centers on some late college students whose class project is to start a business together. Ray, the rich friend of the group, offers up a property his father isn’t using to open a hostel. Cool. Wish I had friends like that! Anyway, Ray is the drunk of the group who harbors a crush on Mew, the nerd of the group. He pretty quickly falls for Top, a former playboy who decides to change himself for the better in order to win Mew over. Too bad that happens after he sleeps with Mew and Ray’s other friend, Boston. If Top is a playboy, then I don’t know how you’d categorize Boston. A player, I suppose. He’s not looking for commitment at all, especially since he plans to move to New York to pursue photography. Nick changes that for him…at least Nick would like to think it does. Finally there is Sand, who gets sucked into Ray’s drunken orbit.
All of these guys have messy ass storylines that duck and weave among each other, and there were a few weeks where it was like whiplash. So, maybe not everything about this show was that realistic. But they do make the characters face some hard truths that I’m sure lots of people have had to face in their lives. And I will say that not everyone gets a happy ending, but that lends itself to the more realistic beats of the show. Some dilemmas our guys face include forgiving an unfaithful significant other, going and committing to rehab, and finding someone that actually love you. Aside from all of these intertwining storylines, there are even some significant side characters that wreck some havoc on these guys’ already complicated lives.
All of that to say I loved every minute of it! A few weeks ago when the last episode aired, I was bummed to know that I would no longer be spending my Saturday mornings with these characters and their hot mess express. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a special episode, as the BL networks tend to do, but if not, I am also keeping my fingers crossed for a second season. It ended in such a way that one really could exist, but if not, I am truly satisfied with how it ended. As for all the main actors in the series, I will be checking out any finished projects and hope to see them in their respective pairs in many, many future projects.
Fan Art Friday: Jeff Satur
I mean look, of all the BL actors that have graced my screen since the summer, Jeff Satur remains the most stunning. So of course I had to draw him again. I know a lot of new music is on the horizon, so I hope there is also a US tour at some point. I’d be willing to travel for sure.

As I’m sure you’ve now come to realize, I am just burning through these Thai BL dramas like they’re going out of style. But from what I’m understanding, they are only getting more popular. I decided to go back a year and watch an old, but popular series, The Eclipse, along with its special episodes.

Whew! I think I might have just found a new BL series that rivals KinnPorsche. Well, in certain ways, I suppose. I still think KP is superior in its storytelling, plot, and delivery. Love in the Air was terrific, but still had some goofy qualities that I’ve come to now expect from Me Mind Y series.

I feel like these are coming at a really steady clip now. Surprise, surprise, another BL drama! This time though, I had the odd pleasure of watching A Boss and A Babe on Youtube! That’s evidently how some of these broadcast networks do it over there. I’m not mad about it.

Ah, the BL drama series saga continues. Let me tell you, the available titles are seemingly endless, so prepare yourself for many, many more in the future. I honestly can’t get enough. Perhaps this is my version of soap operas. Sometimes they come across that way, but for those moments I just grin and bear it and anticipate the good stuff.
