Best and Worst Movies of 2021
Well, after last year I didn’t think it was possible to watch any more movies, but I surpassed my personal best by sitting through 277 films this year. Honestly, there were a lot more good ones than bad! I even got the chance to participate in a few high profile film festivals this year, which might just be the coolest thing ever! Here’s a list of what ruled, what sucked, and a little bit in between.

I was just preparing myself to see Jon Bernthal at a local comic con when a trailer for BJ Novak’s The Premise came out. I saw Jon Bernthal pop his head in and that was all the convincing I needed. Not only that, but there were only five half hour episodes making up this anthology series, so I knew it wasn’t going to be a huge time commitment either. Oh man, it was a very antsy waiting period, but now that I’ve experienced the highly anticipated third season of Succession, I can confirm that it was totally worth the discomfort. It’s felt like it’s been a while since I wrote a book review, but I promise I’m reading! In fact, I’ve just finished the young adult novel, We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. It reminded me a bit of Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver, but you’ll have to read to find out why I think that. In the meantime, here’s my high level review of the novel.

It was a pretty average viewing this weekend, but fear not! It’s the calm before the holiday weekend storm, so I more than plan to make up for it in my next recap. Anyways, here’s a high level look at what I managed to watch this weekend.
Read moreDr. Death Miniseries Review
Back a few months ago I saw a commercial for this miniseries, Dr. Death and knew at some point I was going to get Peacock to watch it. Well, that time has come and it was well worth a month of my life subscribing to NBC’s streaming service. The cast alone was enough to sell it for me, and of course the subject matter was intriguing, but even with just the first episode I was hooked!
