It’s felt like a lifetime since I’ve seen Highly Suspect live! What a crime! Back in 2019 they released their third full-length, MCID, which was so, so good. My sister and I were supposed to catch them on tour in April of 2020, but you guessed it, the pandemic ruined that chance. Since then, the band has been hard at work on their next record, the recently released Midnight Demon Club.

Highly Suspect is back! Not that they’ve been MIA for that long. Really, their third full-length album, MCID, only came out in 2019, but that pandemic has made that feel like a lifetime. It also doesn’t help that the band never got to fully tour on that album. All in all, that makes The Midnight Demon Club feel like a long time coming.

I suppose more specifically, it is Johnny Stevens from Highly Suspect, but still. Despite sitting on this drawing for such a long time, I was really pleased with how it turned out. I even dabbled with different pen colors rather than black! Still Papermate though. Anyways, I decided to post this drawing because I’ve had some social media interactions with Johnny Stevens this week and it makes me really happy. Also, this could be an homage to the band since my sister and I were supposed to see them in April before COVID ruined everything fun in this life. Enjoy 🙂
