For some extremely strange reason, I did not read Riley Sager’s latest novel, Home Before Dark, the day it came out in June! What’s wrong with me?! I guess it’s better late than never. Just like all of his other efforts, this thriller was very satisfying. There were so many twists! Right when I thought I had something pegged, Sager went ahead and flipped the story on its head, but in a way that seemed completely plausible.

Most Random Movies
I don’t know that anything I watched this weekend I planned on watching, but I have zero regrets about any of them. All were practically spur of the moment, with a few that I’d never even really heard of before. They also covered a wide array of genres which always makes for an entertaining time. I would say if you picked any of these films to watch in the future you won’t be let down. I promise!

Look, if you read the title of this article and claim you have never heard of this book before, then I declare that you are a liar. Liar! Yes, Twilight was released 15 years ago, and it was a cultural phenomenon. Compounded by the movie series adaptation that was released several years later, and you could call this one of the most successful literary franchises that has ever existed. And for good reason! This young adult novel is so addictive from start to finish.

I am fully aware that the number of movies I watched this weekend is in fact still above average compared to almost everyone I know. But two movies is almost pathetic! At least by my standards, and especially since I watched 25 movies last month. Oh well, it’s a slow start but I don’t doubt I’ll have a strong finish (even if it is getting nicer out). Now, there were onlt two movies, but they were fairly strong choices!

I had a three and a half day weekend to cram in as many movies as I could, and I totally think I succeeded! It was a broad mix of genres (and languages), so I’m sure you’ll connect with something I saw.

As I mentioned before, I’m sort of obsessed with Hannibal, so I decided to get in tune with the source material. Before watching the 2002 movie of the same name, I decided I first wanted to read the 1982 Thomas Harris novel, Red Dragon. I thought this would be a good way to compare how Hannibal did and then compare it to the movie afterwards. That way, I wouldn’t accidentally overlap anything that happened.

In a relatively short amount of time I worked through all three seasons of NBC’s show Hannibal. Again, I never watched this while it aired, and I feel shame for that now! This show was so, so good, and the third season got even better.

I guess I don’t mean “mega” as in blockbusters, I just mean I watched six movies in three days. That would be a mega achievement for almost anyone, myself included. I will say though, that most of these were pretty mediocre, but that’s just the way it is sometimes. I won’t bore you with the details, so here’s my fast-take below:

I have just been devouring Hannibal episodes like it’s my job (it’s not) and I couldn’t be more happy with how the story is progressing! In a much shorter amount of time, I have finished the second season and I am fully anticipating the third and final season and what that will bring. Because a lot of stuff went down in this batch of thirteen episodes. SO. MUCH. BETRAYAL.

Since it was just a normal two-day weekend for me, I only managed to squeeze in two movies. To be fair, I watched a lot of shows, too! Either way, I picked two shorter films, one a bit newer with a sci-fi story, and the other was just a little bit bonkers. Let’s dive in!
