As a somewhat newfound Jon Bernthal fan, I was really excited to get to watch this six-part miniseries, We Own This City, based off of actual events that happened within the Baltimore Police Department over the better part of two decades. I was even more excited because I knew it was written by the same people who were responsible for the critically acclaimed, The Wire, and that it was going to be directed by King Richard‘s Reinaldo Marcus Green.

Wolf Like Me Miniseries Review
Well, thanks to the abysmal Marry Me, I now have a premium subscription to Peacock for the month. To be honest, I was low-key excited about it because I was eager to check out the comedy-drama miniseries, Wolf Like Me.
Read moreClickbait Miniseries Review
This dramatic and thrilling Netflix miniseries came seemingly out of nowhere. One day it wasn’t there, and the next I see Adrian Grenier’s face with something that looks dark and twisted. Of course, when I learn that Zoe Kazan and Betty Gabriel are in it, too, it became a no-brainer to watch it! Also, with a name like Clickbait, it seems almost impossible that it won’t get watched. This 8-episode miniseries takes a unique storytelling approach with some shocking reveals along the way. Let’s dive in!
Read moreOlive Kitteridge
My mom is the one who originally brought this miniseries to my attention, and after way too many years of living life HBO-less, I’ve finally made the viewing of Olive Kitteridge a priority in my life. Honestly, it was worth the wait!

Beware of spoilers in this post! There, that’s all the warning you’re going to get about I. It’s hard to review this masterpiece of a miniseries without at least somewhat spoiling all the twists and turns that went down. In just seven episodes, this series managed to hook me from the get-go, and also manage to crash HBO Max during the finale. That’s how freaking good this mystery crime thriller is.

It’s been a bit of a week, but I managed to squeeze in Des, a creepy and disturbing three-part miniseries about real life Scottish serial killer, Dennis Nilsen. After being shown an add for this show countless times (they know me so well) and my recent watch of David Tennant in Camping, I felt like I had to give this short series a go. It was well worth the watch, and just like any other serial killer you’ve heard about, their gruesome acts are still endlessly fascinating.

FX on Hulu’s A Teacher, is a drama adapted from a movie of the same name, but starring a few more recognizable names and the ability to flesh the story out a bit more. I think this would have to be every filmmakers dream. Getting to tell a story that you’re passionate about in two different channels has to feel good. There were also enough years separating the two that creator, Hannah Fidell, could take the time to figure out parts she wanted to explore more deeply, or add more fine details to certain scenes.

Since getting HBO Max, I’ve been trying to burn through series like it’s my job. I’m also trying to stay on the up and up with what’s popular right now, and especially if that something is a mystery series. But first I wanted to revisit an older miniseries that was quite popular itself when it first came out. Let’s see what I thought about Mrs. Fletcher and The Flight Attendant!

A couple of weeks ago, FX premiered an excellent British drama called Black Narcissus, and I was hooked from the start. I was actually quite sad that it was only three parts. In an interesting move on FX’s part, all three episodes aired back to back. I didn’t watch these live, so it had no impact on me, but I still thought it was an interesting move.

Back in 2018 when this highly praised miniseries, Escape at Dannemora, came out I had watched the first two episodes because, you know, free Showtime. After that, it just sort of fell off my radar. I knew with the caliber of actors in the show that it would do well during awards season, and it did! Sometimes that’s all I need to know. Also, the show itself wasn’t that big of a mystery since it was based on real life events that took place only a few years prior.
