Somehow I’ve managed to squeeze in more movies than should be possible, especially given that the Emmys are on tonight, but here we are! Some are great and some are just meh, but no regrets with my choices this weekend. Here’s my brief take on all of them.

The Devil All the Time Movie Review
Towards the start of quarantine, I went out of my way to hunt down Donald Ray Pollock’s gothic hillbilly novel, The Devil All the Time, only after learning that it was being adapted into a feature film for Netflix. I also saw the cast list, which locked in my need to read this novel ASAP. And I did! If you follow my blog at all, you probably read (or at least glanced) at my review for the novel. I really enjoyed it! Not only did it take place in my home state, but it also was graphic and violent. There was such an intricate and desolate web woven between all of these characters that really sucked me in.

I don’t know that anything I watched this weekend I planned on watching, but I have zero regrets about any of them. All were practically spur of the moment, with a few that I’d never even really heard of before. They also covered a wide array of genres which always makes for an entertaining time. I would say if you picked any of these films to watch in the future you won’t be let down. I promise!

It’s only three day’s worth, but I watched so many movies, that even I’m impressed with myself. My choices, however…not all were great. Far more were mediocre or less, but I’ll just throw in my two cents with the briefest of recaps and then you can judge for yourselves.

Two flops and two wins made it into this weekend. All were extremely random in terms of story line and genre, but I’ve got an eclectic taste, so nothing ever seems that out of the ordinary for me. However, this doesn’t mean that everything I pick is going to land, and I think this weekend I was hindered by not watching trailers! Yes, they tend to give everything away now, but I think it would have deterred me from watching in a couple of cases. Anyways, here we go.

New month means new movies for the weekend! Well, at least some of them were brand new, while others were old but new to me. It was an oddball mix this weekend, but I was pretty pleased with all of them. Let’s review!

In less than 72 hours, I’ve managed to squeeze five movies into my life without feeling like I’ve neglected any other area of my life. That is quite a feat! I also managed to accomplish this after cleaning up a bunch of glass off of my kitchen floor (courtesy of my cats)! As in the past few of these, rather than bore you with the details, I give my quick-take and a general summary of the films’ events in the hopes of helping you make some choices in your viewing leisure.

I managed to shove quite a few movies into this normal, non-holiday weekend. Some of them were brand new (to streaming services, of course), while others were new to me, while the rest were just some of my old favorites. I won’t bore you with the details this time, so there’s just a tease below.

Well, I suppose it wasn’t much of a marathon given that I had a couple extra days off, but nonetheless, I assume it was more movies than your average adult watched. Nothing too crazy below, just enough of a summary to maybe peak your interests.
