Sundance Film Festival 2024

I’m sure I’ve said this since the pandemic started, but the one thing I’m grateful for is that it made and kept a virtual component to the Sundance Film Festival. This gives me the opportunity to enjoy something I love so much from the comfort of my own home and significantly cheaper, too! I was happy to have an interest in many more films this year. After a terrible year for actors and writers, the studios finally pulled their heads out of their asses just in time for awards season! And though the Golden Globes are back for only the second year after trying to right their wrongs, I thought the evening was a perfectly fine one.

29th SAG Awards

We are now two weeks out from Hollywood’s biggest night, which means that the SAG awards were taking place, but for the first time since I’ve been religiously watching, the ceremony was live streamed on Netflix’s YouTube channel. Once the platform introduces its live component next year we will see the ceremony actually on Netflix, but this change was kind of cool!

Well, after last year I didn’t think it was possible to watch any more movies, but I surpassed my personal best by sitting through 277 films this year. Honestly, there were a lot more good ones than bad! I even got the chance to participate in a few high profile film festivals this year, which might just be the coolest thing ever! Book Review: Survive the Night by Riley Sager

Just when I thought his books couldn’t get any better, Riley Sager goes ahead and publishes this wonder, Survive the Night! Of his five novels, this one cemented itself as my favorite within the first chapter! It’s a thriller, takes place in the year I was born, the lead character is headed back to her hometown which is dangerously close to where I’m from, and she’s obsessed with movies!
